Which battery for \'94 RT/10?

I have to replace the battery on my '94 roadster.

What is the way to go? The Optima 7535 as shown in the Illustrated Viper Instructions or another? The top posts on the Optima look to be a potential area of concern in the installation... What is the current OEM? What is suggested? Is there a consensus of opinion?

Any help/info is appreciated...

Ron,

I replaced the battery in my 94 RT with the Optima Red top. Fit was a major concern, but I had about 1/8 inch on top to spare. A very tight fit, but none the less a perfect fit!!! I have been very happy with the battery so far (6 months). Good luck.

Don't waste your money on anything special. I bought mine at Sam's Club. They have a Champion battery with side connections
which has ~700amps with a top plastic handle. Cost ~$45. It has slightly smaller external dimensions and can easily be installed or removed on my 93. It should last 5 years or more. When it goes, I will just buy another for $45.

What is the current 2000-2001 OEM Battery for the Viper, and would that be most appropriate for the 1994 RT/10? Is it a sealed unit?
