It's Dodge's party and we are invited guests.

In a company as large as D-C - event planning isn't about 2 or 3 people sitting down in a room.... I would be willing to bet that there are many factors that they take into consideration that might not have anything to do with Vipers, Viper owners or much else....

The decision where to go for VOI has been in the planning for many many months. Last I heard it was down to two locations.

Issues to be considered is a single hotel to hold 1,000 guests. (They like to be in one hotel, as alcohol is served.) A large convention center is necessary to handle memorabilia and vendors. Near a track, maybe a drag strip, and a good cruising road is welcome. Weather is considered, parking, and the need for a first class experience for the attendees. A location has to have availability and signing the contract is a huge committment.

They understand that no matter where they decide, the board will soon fill up with members who want it closer to their home.
They seem to try to move it around. The Pacific Northwest in particular is due for an event.
Money is always a consideration, as they want to keep the cost down to attend.
If your club could present a well prepared, detailed proposal, it should be presented by your club president. Just yelling out a city will not cut it. It is always helpful if a local club is enthusiastic enough to provide local knowledge and some manpower to help the staff.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dodge for all the fantastic, memorable VOI's they have provided in the past. I do not know of any other Automotive company that throws such a party for their customers. THANKS DODGE!

Vegas had a VOI in 1999, and Nashville, TN just had a VOI a few years ago, so I'm not sure who's chances I like better. I'm still thinking Atlanta just because I reallllllly want to be able to go

Paul, thanks for the info. You mentioned that the hotel needs to have room for 1000 guests whereas the thread in the Members Only section mentioned 1000 rooms. Which one is actually the requirement: 1000 guests or 1000 rooms?

as much as I'm not looking forward to the drive to the west coast, ATL isn't a great place for this event. We did the last 2 zone rendevouz here and those were good but quite frankly, one can only go to Chateau Elan and Road Atlanta so many times. and the atlanta motor speedway isn't close enough of a track to make an event worthwhile. granted, we have the mountains for some fun mountain drives, but other than this i don't see the event being a spectacular one out here... more like voi7 which was OK but not great. ATL would be the same.

go for vegas or NAPA!

just my .02...
