Anyone have a 2 post lift in their garage?
I am getting ready to order a 2 post lift for my new garage. I would like to get any helpful advice in regards to install, positioning, etc. Anything that will help make it work the best for me.

thanks! :usa:

I have a pneumatic scissors lift that I really like. It has wheels and is not fixed to the floor. Cheap and transportable. Meets my needs as I only need a lift once per month or so.

Where to position it depends on how your garage is set up. I put mine away from the wall, leaving room for cabinets and my bikes. When you install have a couple of friends there to help and double check your measurements and level.

I've got an Eagle 9000 asymmetric. They say it can be installed on a standard 4" thick slab but I poured a slab 8" thick under the posts. Like most, you will need 12" of overhead room for the posts. Mine sits 3' from a side wall and 8' of floor in front. If not asymmetric a couple of added feet in front would be needed.

I have to drive up on 2" planks to get the arms under the Viper.

I just installed a 10,000 lb lift in my barn/garage. Lift was Mfg in Texas it called the Wip it requires 4 in of 4000 lb mix concret, when I poored the floor I formed it up for 6 in. of 4000 lb mix. If you are not mechanical person for an additional $400.00 you can have it installed. You will need a 12' cealing. There is a photo of it in the Image gallery under 01 RT/10 weed53 :smirk: :)
