I heard that most folks who run the Kumho V700s use 305/30/18s on front. That sounds alot wider than stock 275/35/18s.

How's your handling with the wider tires up front? Anyone have pics of the 305s on a GTS?

TIA

I run a 305 toyo on the front with 1.2" spacers on 11 wide rims at the track. I've run 315 Pilots before also. Car is lowered also.

You have to make sure the tires are straight before raising the hood though.

So would I need spacers to run the 305 Kumhos on the front of my lowered GTS (stock 18" 2001 rims)?

Depends on how much and how you lowered it.

Many track guys run 315s on the front...I used 305s with Eibachs, no problem.

CAN I EARN YOUR TIRE ORDER????? We have the best price on Kumhos. Thanks

I have a typo in my post. I run 1/2" spacers. The spacers actually put it closer to the fender and depending on tire I have rubbed ever so lightly in one high g load turn. I use the spacers to get a wider track not to get tire clearance. My car is very low. also , your stock rims are an inch narrower than mine which will give you even more clearance.

My car is lowered with Eibachs and running 2001 model rims.
I also just noticed this weekend that my car has 1/2 inch spacers on it too.

I've been thinking about getting a set of Kumho's 305 front, 335 rear for my ROE 2000GTS, since the Pilot Sport Cups have been backordered for months with no ship date, but the way the Kumho's sit against the edge of the rim might bother me. I'm going to a viper club event this weekend so hopefully someone will have some there i can check out. Or i might just run a BFG Drag Radial on the back.

Yea the Kumho rear's do look odd, but they stick. And they stick in the corners too. The BFG's are meant for,...well.....the 1/4 mile. Call JonB and get a set.

Put the Kumho's on last night. 305f/335r They do look a slightly odd, but the car turns like a go cart now, and the ride is improved. With 80degree temps yesterday if i eased into it they were even getting pretty good traction in 1st! I ran a 5.2 avg 0-60 with the 8 year old stock tires with no traction under boost in first or second, yesterday i ran a 3.0 0-60 on the first try. I'm impressed. Can't wait to go to the track and see what the roe will do in the 1/4.

Handling can improve with this setup but you will NEED to get a good alignment that will compensate for the wider tire up front. If you leave the alignment untouched you may have great turn in but the car may be loose overall. Everyone has a different level of comfort with this so experiment.

Hey Chris,
do the 305s still look small ont he rim? Can you post any pictures? I am think the 315s might be a better fit.

I have run 305 x 30 x 18 Kumhos up front and 335 x 30 x 18 Kumhos on the rear of both my GTS and my SRT-10. Both cars are lowered. These work very well, fit well and stick like crazy.

The Kumhos don't look great with the flat sidewals, but they really work. If performance is more important to you than cosmetics, you'll really like these tires.

A good addition is a set of SSR comps, 18 x 11 front, 18 x 13 rear. The Kumhos fit these rims very well and the off set of these wheels is stock, so again, no rubbing issues.
