why 12" of clutch travel?

Why do the clutches have 12" of travel???? does it really need that much? why can't it be 6"? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Contact Tom,F&L GoR. He has put together a simple kit for the clutch pedal that reduces its travel.

I can vouch for the Roe kit, it works great. It's basically a shorter "bracket" that brings your clutch pedal down about level with the brake pedal. One of those inexpensive must have ugrades in my opinion..
