Had an issue where my window was stuck down and wouldn't go up.

possible bad switch?
measured voltage from switch +/- 12.3 volts, perfect.

switch clicks cleanly and with a nice feel.
ohm out the switch, checks perfect.

ohm out window regulator, again 1.1 ohm around what I would expect.

removed regulator and moved window by hand, moved perfectly.

attached external battery to regulator motor and it drives silky smooth both directions.

cleaned / lubed window guides and regulator.
tested again before reinstalling to be sure regulator moved smoothly and that window did not bind. both perfect.

so now I have:

=/- 12 volts getting to connector. proving the switch is good.

a regulator that is silky smooth running while sitting on work bench, proving regulator works.

a window the is flawless when moved by hand, proving window is not binding.

reattach everything, fire it up, window goes down- won't go up.
*** ?

check connector +/- 12 volts is there and window moves smoothly by hand.
nothing is binding.

Reconnect connector that runs from window switch to regulator motor and recheck this time at connector on regulator motor with needle probes,
12 volts, no minus 12 volts !

disconnect connector, measure again +/- 12 volts is there.
test regulator with external battery, window goes up and down!

external battery, works fine.
when connected switch only works one direction.

that points to the switch but how could that be?
switch ohmed out good and when the motor wasn't connected 12 volts was there.

swapped window connectors on console so right switch controls drivers window etc.

drivers window works, passenger side won't go up.

ITS THE DAMN SWITCH.

CHECKED AND RECHECKED.

I even the compared the switch against the working switch and it still checked good.

but the switch is 100% the problem..........

On a serious note, you may have a break in the wires between the switch and the motor the wire may be broken internally causing an intermittent fault :( A real pain in the ass to find :(

On my car I also took the switches completely apart and cleaned the internal contacts. I had to do this a couple of times to get the correct contact :)

What year is your car? I may have one I will send after I get back from vacation. Or I believe you can take apart the switch and clean the connection. That will help out temporarily.
