Windshield frame paint

Hello all,

Before I began the top project I had to remove some aftermarket weatherstrip the previous owner of the car had applied to the A pillar of my 94. This has left some undesirable marks and I'd like to give my winshield frame a face lift so I was wondering if anyone here knows what to use or if there is a paint code available.

I second that, I have a couple of scratches and would like to match the color.

I think it's a matte finish. You can use the spray cans from any auto parts store. Very doubtful you will be able to blend it in with the existing paint so you might as well prep and paint the whole frame.

Tip: Keep a towel in the trunk and drape it over the frame to protect it when you install the tops.

That may be the only choice. I'll check a dealership and if that is a no go maybe I'll have finishmaster mix some.

For touch-ups or to re-do the entire frame?

I have a gouge on mine, what's good to fill in this before painting?

Use a high grade marine body filler, sand and paint. The marine filler seems a bit more dense than atandard body filler.
