I'm installing Jesel Mohawk rocker arms on my 01 GTS. Instructions are reasonably clear. But, they state: "Set Intake Lash to desired spec." "Set Exhaust lash to spec."

I've looked at the DC Service Manual, and anything else I could find. I do not find a clear "spec".

Anybody have experience on this install?

Thanks,
Pat

Hey Pat,
I've installed many! At top dead center with the cylinder, turn your adjusting screw to 0 lash and then turn it in/down 1 & 1/2 turns [cold] on intake and exhaust. This will get you in the middle range of the lifter when hot.

Sorry to bring an old thread back, but is it 1 turn in after zero lash on a cold motor,1 1/2, or is it 1/2 turn?

Hi,

installed my Harland Sharp with 1 1/2 on my cold motor, as it was written in the description.

Greetings

Keep in mind you must have the correct length push rod. If you do not, the adjuster nut could be too low or too high. Both conditions could create a problem. You also have to make sure the the pattern of the roller is centered on the valve, use magic marker and rotate the engine by hand to view the roller mark.

This is for T&D rockers, i am assuming the Jessel's are the same.

Thanks, I will measure for the push rod length and do the marker trick, I'm just confused with Tators post on how many turns to go after 0 lash on a cold motor...Might just have to give him a call tomorrow.
