Viper GTS in Saleen Red (nice pic)

Local guy stopped by my house yesterday with his GTS that he is selling. Been seeing it at events for awhile, but never got a real good look at it until now. Wow! That is one gorgeous color:

It looks like a dark candy apple red and really pops in person. I thought this was a pretty cool picture of it too...

It's going on eBay tonight with a $39K starting bid and no reserve. Autoform front end, HRE wheels, newer tires, and accident free (first thing I asked - supposedly clean CarFax too). Only down side is that it has 41K miles. Barely broken in!

Wheels and everything go with the car. Kind of divided on the front end myself - I like the stock fascia that has "closure" underneath...

It is a sharp car, and I did run a Carfax on it too - perfectly clean. Underneath looked fine too. Guess the owner just wanted a different color!

I'm suspicious of total repaints, but wow, what a beautiful car! I agree the facia badly needs a splitter to complete the look. On the plus side, those are wheels that I'd definitely slap on the McViper.

Funny, because one of the things I commented was that I personally preferred this color over the 2008 Venom Red. Don't get me wrong, but the Venom Red is missing just a little bit of a purple hue to give it more of a candy apple appearance. I also checked with a dealer (and Viper/Ford GT owner) that had this one on a lift. Nothing wrong or suspicious that he could see either. I think I would switch back to the factory fascia myself... Just checked the pics and they are 19" HRE's all around. Now I have to figure out the model number. They have some chrome flaking a bit - mainly on the right front wheel.

I have given it a little thought, as I do think that is a good price. The gentleman also happens to be the banker for many local club members and owns the paper on 2/3 of the sheetmetal in our garage. So I told him I would put the word out for him as he isn't doing much on his PC these days after corneal surgery. No worries, I figured you guys (and gals) would like the color as much as anything. It will be in the VCA Classifieds and on eBay later...

Such a nice, SHINY red color--not as fond of reds, but this one really does pop. BTW--sadly, Saleen didn't win the LeMans, not surprisingly, Aston Martin did...and NOT surprisingly, Corvette did not!!!!! Was rooting for Saleen S7, BUT, happy Aston Martin DB9 won also...a totally awesome vehicle!! Thanx, Chris, for showing this Saleen Red!

Ughhh . Actually, his ad (or is it your ad?) had just started and the only thing in his description was "to be updated later". Obviously, he updated and added all the info. Check out the other GTS he has for sale also. That thing is sweeet along with the other cars for sale. I gotta dump this Twin Turbo Corvette and get me another Viper. It's killing me.

Nice looking car for a repaint. The write-up is nauseating. Even the most diehard Viper fan knows that there is no comparison between a Veryon and Enzo vs a Viper. The other GTS has been listed before.

Loose the wing and the front fasia and that is one gorgeous car. I just can't get used to the wings on these cars. Looks way too ricer for me.

However I think the point was not to compare the cars in anything but the rarity and the chances of seeing another one like it on the road. Doesn't say anything about comparing price, power, or desirability. Indeed, the $38K seems to cover that all by itself.
