We put a small waterwall in a so called beautifull new
free standing Accountants building, main lobby floor.
For some STRANGE reason this guy Mr. Patel will not
allow anyone to take pictures. Superstitous?
He promissed a picture as the place is supposed to be
amazing with blue sky and clouds for a ceiling. He's
blown us off for a picture, that acutall voids his warranty.
Still the whole deal is weird and we'll pay someone to
go check out this deal and steal some pics.

I'll revise am and post address of this crazy place....:dunno:

Depending on how far it is I might be able to check it out. He may be a Homeland security or NSA subcontractor, there are MANY around here and that may be the problem.

That's just weird. I mean the guy is your customer, I assume he paid you, now the waterfall is his, and if he doesn't want you to take a picture of it and stick it on your website well that's his perogitive!

You mention that if you can't take a picture of it - it voids his warranty? What kind of nonsense is that?

That would be like Dodge demanding that they come to my house and taking a picture of my Viper after I've bought it otherwise my factory warranty is void.

There's plenty of businesses where only authorized people are allowed in the building, and/or no pictures are allowed. Especially as someone mentioned if government work is involved. You could really be a spy, who has figured out that the best way to get spy photos is to sell businesses products with voided warranties if you can't come and 'take a picture'.

"I'm sorry Mr Smith, I know you bought those 42 laser printers for your company, but if we can't come and take photos of every single one of them, well, your warranty will be VOID sir."

You should hope he voids his warranty by not letting you in for pictures, then you can sell him another waterfall and charge him all over again. "Hmmmm...so you say it's squirting people in the face again? Yeah that is weird, I thought we fixed that problem two waterfalls ago. We'll ship another one out next week, shall we charge the same credit card?"

If his contract with the purchaser states that it allows him the right to take photos after the installation or the warranty will not be activated then both seller and purchaser have agreed. No pictures no warranty as crazy as that may sound, simple contract law.

Unfortunately simple warranty law can supercede that, and if you've ever taken a look at the terms and fine print on a warranty (even more easily found on those 'extended warranties' stores sell) you'll notice that there's often paragraphs and paragraphs of fine print related to the laws of the various states and how the warranty is to be enacted in those states.

And the state the product is sold to / delivered to, not the state of the selling/manufacturing company, that determines the terms of the warranty. Some companies don't sell some products in some states because of the state's warranty and consumer protection laws.

This is because companies often find unique ways to weasel out of warranty coverage, namely enacting strange terms and surreptitious clauses, and many states spell out exactly how warranties need to cover products and consumers regardless of terms enacted by the manufacturer, again leading some to not sell products in certain states all together.

If there ever was a problem with the waterfall, and H2O claimed it was not coverable, even if it within the warranty period, simply because they hadn't taken a picture, I guarantee there's at least one state where that wouldn't fly and runs afoul of those types of warranty and consumer laws, if not many.

Keep forgetting to post his address.
Good points 4sure viper dude, exxxxcept:
We discounted the waterfall as he begged us to do and promissed the most
beautifull... breathtaking pictures for our website upon completion. I was paid
in full by the general, and think they still haven't been paid after 6mts.
The reason we Demand pics of the finished product, is the customer has
the option to save money and install themselves. If so they must send us
certain pics showing the install. Otherwise we won't warranty the complete
waterfall if connections aren't proper. We catch several problems and it all
benefits the customer overall.

Peace,

Funny how some small details can change things. Being a business owner myself, I encounter things like this sometimes, and so if this guy was the one thar promised these big beautiful pics in exchange for a discount, then yes I'd be there with a tour bus full of Japanese tourists first thing come Monday!!

I am going to hijack the post formy own interest. I assume these water walls just mount on the wall. A friend of mine had one built in and the backround had an Tuscan/Italian flavor. Do you have some examples? I need something for my entry wall after finishing my remodel. My house also has a Tuscan feel to it so I guess I am looking for something along the same lines.

Address does not compute, you either left out the street or the town, I suspect the town is Columbia?
