After I bought my new ACR, I new I wanted to upgrade the stereo similar to my last car. Well this time, I went ALL OUT and hired Tuners Audio in Ft Oglethorpe GA to install a custom setup in the trunk (2 10"s and a Memphis amp). Having come recommended by Mike @Ringgold Dodge, and after having them do some previous work on my old ACR, I gave them some basic parameters for what I wanted and gave them free reign to use their imagination and customize something nice. Well they did a pretty darn good job!

Here is my list:

Avic N2 with hideaway unit, NC-B1 backup camera (with customized Orange LEDs on head unit and facelpate courtesy of Same Day Audio repair in Chesapeake, VA)

Memphis Belle Amplifier 16-MCH1300 1300 Watts
2 10" subs

Here is what it looks like:

Walking into the shop.. hadn't seen it yet... :)

They custom made the amp housing and GTS logo housing, the sub boxes I bought from another Viper owner who pulled his stereo out. Turned out pretty good. Tuners Audio made the hatch area (GTS logo and sneaky pete) glow orange to match the dash. Because the amp is below the plexiglass, it made Sneaky Pete look strange in the pic but it looks awesome in person.

Man that is sweet, they did a really good job. I really like the Viper design they did in the trunk, did they free hand that? Either way a truly great setup. :2tu:

Thanks a lot.

They got the logos off the internet and created decals to place on the plexiglass, and then sprayed or painted (can't remember which) on the glass.

Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding! Dave666 wins the prize! Now someone please comment on the lack of a spare tire.

DrDJ

no the vents are not covered. the spare, spare cover and jack had to be removed to make the install work. I don't care though, I don't expect to be changing a tire in a Viper any time soon. That's what my AAA is for.

Well, spill the beans. Show us how the sub enclosures fit while still keeping the vents open. I can guess, but this is 2007. I want pics!

I don't know... that sure looks like the vents are blocked. I don't know how you can fit a 10" sub in there without blocking anything.

Remember just because some air can get in through there doesn't mean it's not blocked. Those vents are designed to move a lot of air in a very short amount of time.

Spare, you don't need no steenkeeng spare.

Jon B set the record straight on that after Tator wailed on me for removing it for the sub install!

Looks good....are you happy with the sound?

? Who bothers to listen to a radio or whatever in a Viper? I listen to the music of engine, exhaust, gears, tires etc.I check the radio once per year to see if it actualy works. Some people seem to prefer a rolling boom box to an automobile. To each his own.Maybe I should check the radio.I don't think I've tried it out this year to make sure its still there and works. Just don't get rear ended as the spare tire is required for structural integrity.:dunno:

Wow, looks awesome. Love the big Sneaky Pete.

Really clean setup. Everything hidden. Lots of luggage space when traveling.
Bet it sounds fantastic.

Do anything with the speakers up front?

Thanks, I really like it. I didn't upgrade any mids/highs, left the stock speakers in the doors. I may switch them out in the future, but the system sounds pretty awesome as is.

oh, and to the guys who were asking about the vents being blocked, I guess they are. I didn't realize they were in the pockets in the sides. Oh well. I guess I'll have the roll up the windows when I go over 130 :)

They are also what lets the air out when you close the door. Keeps the back glass from blowing out. :crazy2:

And just remember IF the airbags ever blow you will loose your ear drums too...

And you may get some resonance at 35mph with the windows down.

And you may get bass cancellation with the windows up...

Why do I know these things? Been there... done that... Changed it...

Except the airbag part :)

The perfect mod for an ACR !!! :dunno:

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. It's a toy and its your toy to play with as you wish ! Its just not what I was looking for when I chose to own an ACR.

The install (labor) was $2,000. The stereo head unit, LED upgrade, 10" subs and amp were around $2g as well (counting the backup cam at $250). So I've got a little over 4 large invested.

My buddy Matthew Photoshopped the Sneaky Pete to be Orange w/black background, matches the trunk area and gauges better.

I was thinking the same thing. I only listen to the sound of the V10.

The stereo looks nice.

I listen to my radio. It's nice on long trips and when sitting in traffic. This whole "I eat raw red meat while watching football, drinking a beer, tagging my girlfriend and listening to my big rumbly exhaust while I drive my Viper" is a little lame and unrealistic. The stock stereo is average at best and a little stereo tune up would be nice, but I wouldn't throw 4gs towards a stereo in a car I drive maybe once every 2 weeks. 500 towards new speakers and 3500 towards a Roe is what I would do :D
