I had a great Thanksgiving weekend with washing and driving my Viper, now the snow has REALLY blanketed the area and the reality has set in. I am feeling depressed knowing it's probably going to be MONTHS 'til I really get to drive my car.

Ok so i spend 'til March putting endless coats of polish, sitting in the seat pretending I am 12 yrs old going thru the gears, cranking up the car so I can sing to my favorite 70's songs on XM....have had a lotta 2-seater cars but this one just gets to ya'. I spend my time now on the forum, watching YouTube of every Viper burn out and race I can find and checking the weather for a sunny day.

Ok I feel better.

I think.:lmao:

so is it weird that I feel for a car ? hahaa guess I don't need a boyfriend huh?

I mean, I have had vettes, sure, and still have one...but the VIPER. wow it's just in another ball park.

I walked out in the garage today just to look at it and pinch myself, even after 4 yrs of having it I STILL feel very lucky to be able to have one!

Explaining Viper things to you
I'm doing some pre-winter modding for when it drops into the upper 50's in January for 2 weeks. Yup, I was going through big time withdrawals not adding something onto the car followed by a month of analysis. I do that year round in Texas. Mostly driving though. Year round. Did I mention that?

I shoveled 16" of snow off my driveway and sidewalk yesterday! My girl is now put away until Spring. I'm definitely feeling your pain. :crying:

Serious Viper withdrawal here. Had my exhaust apart making a minor fix so I wasnt able to drive it the past 2 weeks when we had some great weather. Finally got it back together - just in time for the snow. I did get some Viper enjoyment by washing it over the long holiday. Also spent a lot of time reading every post on the board! Probably going to put the Viper into winter hibernation soon as my job in medical sales has been insane lately.

Is it too early to start wishing for spring?

Leslie,
I know exactly how you feel. I did the same thing last winter.
We've had an unusually warm and dry fall here so far and I've been taking advantage of it as much as possible while it lasts. But I know the snow will fall soon and I won't be able to drive my car again for a few months (at least).
There is just something about this car that makes me want to drive it all the time. It just hates sitting in the garage :evilmad:

I've been in withdrawal for about 5 years after selling my sapphire/silver stripe beauty :(

Someday I'll get back into another one.

Winter? Whats winter??? I have been daily driving mine since I have gotten here in Hawaii just over 2 months ago and 1600 miles on it. Some days are very rainy and I do not taker her out then. Last weekend I went cruising and hit every point on the island. Well I hope spring time hurries and gets here for all of you not so fortunate. Soon I will have new pics when the new wheels come in. I also just got a new sound system installed. She is about done.

I've never understood why the calender should determine when the car goes "away".
What if there is no snow through January? Last year, here on Long Island it was over 50 degrees on New Years Day and we were out cruising..would have felt silly putting the car away in November. I let the conditions determine, not an arbitrary date.

Year round?..... I think all that Summer Scorch has damaged your brain Dave...... don't people auto-melt in June in Texas?

Here's my Viper sob story. I get a call last night from a couple Viper friends who are traveling thru GA on the way to FL. We end up meeting at ******* and hung out for several hours. But, when I left the house the top wasn't on the car and it was out of gas. So, I had to go fillup ($1.92 for premium) and go without the top because I'm too lazy to play erectorset to get it put together and it was quite cold. See, we all have "woah is me" Viper stories :D

Same here Jon. We drove into snow squalls a couple Sundays ago. Salt really hasn't deluged our direct area yet, so the cars are still ready to go at a moment's notice. We don't take them off the road, as we DO have good days to drive them...as you said. ENJOY where and when you can! EASY does it on COLD roads. :drive: ~juli

agreed.. I do the exact same thing.

And even if it is cold, so what? I pretty much drive my cars all year long. As long as all the salt is washed up. Now WASHING in the cold weather, DOES ****!!!

I am thinking about 4 studded snow tires like I used to do with the Carrera then find a frozen lake for my track fix! Where can I get some steel wheels to mount my winter tires?

I know the feeling. While it's not "too" bad here, the cold roads make driving with the runcraps interesting. I am seriously considering some new PS2s over the winter.

And I sit in the car when I can't take it out as well. I even find reasons to go into the garage just so I can look at my Viper without being called a geek!
