Hey guys,

Well it looks like my Z06 is selling this morning on Ebay so it's time for me to get serious about picking out an SRT10.

Buhler has an 06 Crystal Slate Pearl car with 22K miles on it. Higher miles but it does have some things I am looking for. I have cash so that part is out of the way.

I have been watching SRT10 prices for the last 2 months and know where there selling. What do you guys think an 06 22k Slate car is worth?

I was set on an 06 coupe but with the prices dropping so much on the 03's, and 04 Verts I just decided to save some money and get a vert.

Anyways I am looking for a good deal on a car anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks guys!

Andy Wheeler:)

Be patient you are in the drivers seat for buying - the prices could even go lower, I would wait for a car with lower mileage. How much are you planning on spending?

Well depends on the car but I would say 45K or less. I personally don't mind a car with slightly higher miles as long as the price reflects it, and it's a good car. But it is hard to spend 45 when you can pick up 03's and 04's with less miles in the high 30's.

I will be patient though thanks for the advice. What would you pay for an 06 slate 22K car from a dealer?

Going from the ZO6, I don't think you will be happy with the 06 Viper.Shop real hard (Ringgold Dodge), and pay just a few dollars more and get a used 2008, 600 h.p....I have owned 1996 GTS, 1997 GTS, 2006 SRT-10 TWIN TURBO, 2008 SRT 10 and now a 2009 ACR and my opinion is just that, but believe me if you get the 06, you will be wishing you had turned loose a little more change and got a 2008.....It will put a huge smile on your face, I promise. :headbang::)

Well I am going from a 2001 Blown C5 Z06 (580rwhp) that was just featured in two vette magazines. Vette and Corvette Enthusiast. I wish I could get an 08 but I just don't have the funds right now.

I am really looking for a nice 03-06 SRT 10 for a goooood price.

Thanks guys!

One of these days I will get an ACR :D

there is a black 04 Vert just showed up at a dealer in las Vegas. I took a look at it the other day but they haven't done a full inspection on it yet so there is no set price. Also there is a dealer here with a 08 Venom red /white stripes coupe that he is VERY motivated to sell. He didn't even hesitate when I offered him a stupid low price, but saidly I cant get another one right now. PM me if you are interested in any of these. There is also Pam Andersons black and silver RT at the same dealer.

HAHA Pams Viper intersting, I will shoot you a PM about the 08 coupe but I doubt it's in my price range.

The dealer in Jersey is asking 59K for that car with 22K miles on it, and 60K for the car with 8 thousand miles on it.

Not to worried about the power issue I went 740 to the wheels to my bone stock C5 Z so I know it will be slower for awhile. More concerned with getting the best deal I can. I would love an 08 if you can find one in the mid 40's LOL.

Thanks for the help guys its much appreciated!

At the current time, I would say that an 06 with 22K miles is a mid to high $40s car depending on condition. Probably is that 08s have lost $20K or more off sticker IMMEDIATELY so they are hurting 03-06s but that is good for you! I know many others are saying get into a 08 but it will cost you at least $10K more. Right now 08s (NON ACRs) are trading around $55K - $60K on the wholesale market and retail is anywhere from $60K and up. There have been two REALLY good deals on 08s in the last month but they are few and far between; but hey you never know, cash is king now. The deals:

2008 Convertible in Venom Red
1800 Miles
$57,000

2009 Convertible in Orange with Aero Kit
Untitled
$65,000

As for prices going down, ironically believe it or not, the 08s at wholesale have stabilized in the high $50s and are showing signs of going up. In December and January they were in the low to mid $50s!!! I do not understand it but it is just food for thought. I would say that an 08 in the high $50s or LOW LOW $60s with low mileage is a very good buy today.

You list Maryland as one of your addresses and you hav a a 301 number, why not take a look at this one if you like the Crystal Slate? This is a nice car, I know it, half the miles too and it's been listed for a while so maybe he would talk about the price. This color is really rare by the way.

ViperClub Classifieds - Viper Slate Crystal Pearl - Amazing Color! - Powered by PhotoPost Classifieds

Shot him an email the other day Lee, it is the exact car I am looking for but he won't take less then 50 for it so I am moving on.

It's a shame to he's close as well.

Thanks Buddy!

I just bought a 05 Copperhead with 20K miles for 44K,
Here is the kicker, it has a Paxton and dynos around 700rwhp.
I bought it from a dealer in LA, like someone else said before you are in the drivers seat.
I just saw on another form that a Yellow 05 with 6k miles sold for 43K.
Be patient and you will end up with a great buy in this market.

Thanks Guys!

Hello, I have been away for a bit, say five or six months. Are you saying an 06 coupe can be had for 45k or so? I sold mine in September for 62k and felt like I got clubbed over the head!! Is that where things are now, or am I understanding this wrong. By the way, good luck with whatever you buy. Kind regards, Rich.

I took a look at an 03' red vert with 30,000 miles on it at a local dealer and he is asking, $38,500. It was cery clean with no defects or scratches anywhere... I'm still tempted but not red viper guy... So the deals are out there just be patient ;)

YOU GOT OUT IN TIME!!!!!

The days of selling an 06 Coupe for over $60K are long gone because of what happened with Dodge and the 08 Coupes. For someone to spend $60K on a 06 Coupe when $65K can get you a 08 Coupe would be foolish. Mid $40s to low $50s is where the 06 Coupes are now depending on color, stripes or not, and mileage. Just for reference:

2006 Viper SRT-10 Coupe in Red with NO Stripes
20,000 Miles
Sold For: $45,000 (Private Party)

2006 Viper SRT-10 Coupe in Black with Silver Stripes
2,400 Miles
Sold For: $49,200 (eBay)

2006 Viper SRT-10 Coupe in Copperhead Orange
7,000 Miles
Asking: $47,000 (Ford Dealer in Orange County, CA)

2006 Viper SRT-10 Coupe in Black with NO Stripes
19,000 Miles
Asking: $50,000 OBO (Expo Motorcars in Houston)

Thanks guys learning something new from this thread everyday feel free to post the deals your finding in here.

I believe my first offers will be on the cars at Buhler, and if I can't get what I am looking for there, I will start looking for a Coupe.

Andy:)
