We battled with driveline flex on the Gen 2's years ago and found the changing to a more rigid transmission crossmember improved shifting and reduced driveline "clunk".
Its a easy and cheap upgrade and a nice looking part.

Dan, you should have your web guy link the pic so it can be clicked on and go to a larger image.

One thing about the stock crossmember is the sections welded to the frame that the crossmember bolts too. They're just one more thing in the way for dropping the tranny. It would be nice to come up with a redesign of that.

The Gen 1 Viper came with a Rigid transmission support that included a torque arm mount. This is plenty stiff and does not need to be improved on.

If I am not mistaken, Chuck was talking about redesigning the Gen II mount, not only to make it stiff, but to help make removal of the transmission easier.

The two tabs on either side of th eframe does get in the way when removing the tranny.
