I haven't seen any SRT custom DEALER orders on any of the popular sites, seemingly all they purchased were tricked out GTS. The only SRT models I've seen are the custom orders for people like us on the forums.

I'd be curious to know how many SRT models were actually built beyond the 100 track packs.

I saw a black SRT with the stripes and the touring package somewhere. I don't think it had the track pack or leather. Check around the popular sites...

Probably this one at Tomball Dodge. It was ordered by a friend of mine, who cancelled the order a few weeks ago because he grew frustrated about the entire ordering process. Beautiful color combo.

Frustrating Ordering process....hahaha...oh yeah that 1/2 year thing with still no result for many....man I'm glad thats over with & feel for guys like VenomV that ordered the day of orders opening and still have no car built....

Its a non issue if u live in FL but getting delivery in Mid July or later up north when the last week of August starts to get cool...yeah, its not the idea when ordering before xmas time the previous year.

Moving forward, the car is just plain cool.

LOL just like me

Cancel the car and it gets built...

Another buddy of mine also cancelled his order a couple weeks ago. He was one of those who was notified that his car would be a '14 model. SRT Gunmetal Pearl w/ Track pack, no stripe car. Nowhere close to being built, was ordered in early Jan.

Makes you wonder how many of the "cars sitting on lots" are actually cancelled orders. I bet at least half of them.

If I hadn't started looking around and being underwhelmed with everything else out there (991/GTR/M5), I probably would have passed on the car when Bernie contacted me. I was going to wait until 2014 and order again.

I totally get why people got annoyed with it. Hopefully just first year growing pains for SRT, but they really need to learn from it. I think them reaching out to those that did order and doing something to make it right, would do wonders.

I know I'll be happy with the car when it finally arrives in my driveway this week. But if anyone asks, I'll surely share my displeasure with actually waiting for the car. I have a punch sheet of issues with SRT... Amazing how hard they made it to spend money.

Honestly, I'd think twice about custom ordering from SRT in the future.

You know, I'm really trying. Since '99 been a loyalist with multiple vipers. I held out from ordering because I was waiting for word on the vert or for the combo I would love - the aero pkg on silver or MG, SRT, with track pack. I've been anxiously waiting for '14 ordering info ... So now they're not making that car and taking TP away?! I heard Ralph, in person, explain how the SRT model wasn't the cheap-ass base old farts' car, but the track enthusiast oriented model. So was that smoke up our skirt? What is going on. I guess SRT isn't going to have a car I want. I'm frustrated just planning to buy, I'm sure guys who've ordered and are waiting in the wind are beside themselves. I'm waiting own official info but I can't believe how turned off I'm getting at this point. Based on this info I need to compromise on what I want one way or other while dropping 6 figures, not sure I'm drinking that much SRT kool aid. Ugh.

Not offering a trak-pak on the SRT model is a humongous fail. They really need to change that hideously bad idea. What happened to the SRT model appealing to the die-hard Viper guy? That decision is disturbing. Where is this brand going?

ViperSmith... I hate to bust your bubble but it is my understanding the TA will be offered in black, white. and red as well as the orange.

The track pack model will be replaced by the TA

You can order the tires and the Sidewinder wheels seperately - so all you are missing is the Stoptech rotors. So if you order a GTS ,the Stoptechs are now standard, and you just need to order the rims and the tires- no Stoptechs on an SRT, so you can't essentially build on this model. This is not the normal ordering but a very, very abbreviated run essentially for what was the second wave. Most Dealers do not have any allocation. The cars are way out on build too, just filling in the blanks for the Dealer allocation established for 2013 , but not fulfilled due to delays. We can order cars for folks, as we have allocation, and we can give you correct information. The SRT hood is now available for the GTS , as well as red stripes across the board to match the red interiors so many of you inquired about.

Give me a ring or email;

WHOAH SRT hood on GTS!! FINALLY!! now that delay and waiting could be for the better with a grinch of salt.

So if its going to be a '14 but they're not doing TP anymore, then what would that mean? I know he cancelled but what about others like this??

Good question. I'd assume SRT would build the cars as ordered, since the new '14 options list appears to have changed after the fact. You probably just cannot order them today with the track pack.

In all honesty, I'd have ordered the orange T/A had it been available in '13. My only gripe about the T/A is that it appears to be a set package that you cannot alter. You can't get NAV or leather in it. They should have just made the T/A parts as options for the SRT, in my opinion. Exterior carbon, 2-mode shocks, contrast stitched interior, track pack, upgraded front rotors/calipers.

+1 on this. If this is all official, I'm probably not adding my 4th viper, these colors, making standard stuff options. The way others have been treated after spending 150k. There are 4 makes I am looking at, all comparable pricing (once I'm done adding paint and stuff) that will make me feel like a kind spending this kind of money. Crying shame.

I wish there were more details on the McLaren "P13" - but it isn't supposed to hit the streets for another 2 years. Supposed to start around $110k (from what I've read) and go directly after the 991TT

Guys, Bill posted that this is a small sub-build of the real 2014 model year, to fill orders for those who were bumped from 2013. Wait for the official 2014 press release before drawing any conclusions on models, colors, options. There will likely be some nice surprises for 2014. There had better be, or we will show up at Conner with picket signs and rotten tomatos after all that we've been through with the 2013, LOL

DMAN,

You are getting too concerned , as the SRT can still have the rims ordered , and the tires, so only the rotors are gone -- and we already have a solution for that. In fact Mark and I are already working on the Woodhouse TRT package ( TrackRat ) and it should be like a TA with more options in many folks minds ----- belts, tow hooks, lowered suspension , just to name a few ideas.

But , either way a SRT ordered with sidewinders and Pirelli Corsas is just missing rotors, and that can be very easily remedied. Hope this helps as understand your frustration, but it really isn't as bad as it may appear.

Since the GTS will come standard with Stoptechs, just add the rims and tires, and it is right back to the prior track pack on this model.

Respectfully submitted.

Bill, that's great news for the SRT guys. Don't forget about those of us with GTS's. I'd like to lower my car about 5/8" front 7/8" rear but keep the spring rate about the same as stock (or marginally stiffer, if required to keep it off of the bump stops). I don't want to compromise street comfort, the thing is so damn good on the track stock. In other words, keeping it a true GT car, comfortable ride but a little lower.

Meester Jorgensen ( Danish or Norwegian for Mr. Suspension ) is looking into it VenomV. There are some questions about the electronic suspension, but I will defer to his expertise and I know there are ongoing discussions , but way to technical for me.

I spoke with Mark. I'm on the waiting list for lowering springs for the GTS, when they come available :headbang:

Bill, tell Mark to add me to this list... also when you have information on when headers, exhaust and the PCM/ECU (whatever they're calling it these days), become available.

Guys, don't sweat the Track Pack wheels. I carry several brands of higher quality that cost less than the $4,000 price on those wheels. You can get actual forged wheels for that budget, not just rotary forged/cast OEM wheels.

Bill;

It is good you have options to remedy but there are many that want it from the factory just that way and matching the MRSP sheets. If I was dropping the $150k, you better believe it would have to be EXACTLY what I want from the factory period, no exceptions. There is just something about a completely 100% original from the factory car versus a modified after the fact car as the later conjures up visions of "modified tuner" with the good and bad that comes with it. With the implied and expressed SRT Business Model to this point and where we thought SRT was going with build-to-order customs, the decision to remove certain options from the factory raises a lot more questions and concerns than simply not offering the packages. There is a sense of knee **** reactiveness and disconnect to what we are seeing which translates to unprofessionalism and questions trust. Call it teething, which it is to a degree being in the new Fiat company and reopening with a new car, but again timely communications is key.

In the end, there should just be one car, an SRT Viper base model with the ability to custom order it with any and every option as needed. Get rid of the two models and packages etc., just make it one model with infinite option possibilities so to speak. No need for fancy on-line tracking and ordering systems. We are talking about 800 to 1,000 cars. You can track everything on an Excel worksheet. It is not rocket science. Not saying a nice small Cloud-based ordering and tracking system could not be very easily developed and implemented. The bottom line is why waste the effort of additional models. The community and owners will realize and recognize certain combinations as desireable, etc. just like a Ford Mustang Super Cobra jet (SCJ) and a COPO Camero in the olden days. Just open it up like Burger King and let people have it their way. SRT is still making the insane mark up on the individual options anyway. Models and packages are a way to cut down the price of the car by packaging. There are zero savings to packaging options offered by SRT now with the Viper so what is the point? Making a single option unavailable on an SRT model when doing so may sell 50 more cars for the situaiton than people on the fence who do not want everything in a GTS. That is where SRT is making the absolute wrong move with the packages and models.

It is just getting a little old in regards to the official, unofficial information, he said, she said of the whole experience. The car appears to be a great car as most that have them (actually ALL I believe who have posted here) love them. However it is purely buying experience of the the business side of marketing, operations and customer service that appear to be lacking. As an example being an engineer (which I am, but on the non technical business side nowadays), I understand the real difficulties in making other non-traditional engineers interact with people. It's not mosts fortay. Recognize that and fix the problem in the organization. Again, we are not talking about mass production here. It sounds like the right people still need to come together in some of these areas I listed above in SRT to hit it out of the park. Just having gear-heads do everything is not always the best position for the brand. Specific gear-heads that understand marketing, operations and even some fianance in addition to the passion of a gear-head are the ones you want dealing with solutions. Each of these cars is a Strategic Solution and SRT needs to get away from a Commodity execution model. I see commodity based models fail every day with companies all over North America. The minute they move to a true Strategic Solutions based model of business, and operations, all these problems and negative buying experiences and stories go away. Confidence is restored and the opportunities are endless. To do anything different, in the unique situation SRT is in is really under-estimating the situation. People buy the cars for the hand built attention to detail, why go 1/2 the way there on the rest of the experience. Put the big boy pants on, roll up the sleeves and give it the personal attention to do it right. Owners should walk away with a feeling of this entire experience from the moment I walked into the dealer or filled out an order form was trustworthy, informative, treated with respect and as part of the entire team and process right to when they handed me the keys and I drove away. That will win repeat business and new owners. Why do you think Corvette offers ability for personally build your own motor for your ZR1 car in their factory. Connect with the buyer for the experience Just sayin'.

We conducted a research clinic with owners of Porsches, Lamborghinis, Corvettes, and other sports cars,” recalls SRT head Ralph Gilles. “To our surprise, they respected the Viper, but they also had lots of cutting comments.” No surprise, that. With the new Viper, SRT hopes to attract both the members of what Gilles calls “the historic audience” for Viper as well as the “supercar audience.” “These are the people who respected the Viper,” says Gilles, “but who wanted more technology, a better interior, and a better ride before they would consider it.”

I'm still waiting for all these new "supercar audience" members that have bought the new Viper to chime in here on the board.... Or are they not buying the car?

Well said. This post hits all the points for me. The big concern may not be "will we sell all of them for 2013." The way things are going, if that isn't the concern then it will be whether they can sell after 2013.
