The more I look for a car that could potentially replace my 97 RT, the more I realize how amazing this car is (only looking because I got a great offer for her). I have yet to find another weekend blaster that gives you the performance, exclusivity, looks, and reliability under $50k...What do you guys think? :eater:

Blue and white Gen1 (and a half) is about as rare as you can get as well. Better be a $100k+ offer, where you could buy 2 Vipers + toys.

Tough act to follow for sure... Some guy pulled up to me in a parking lot and asked me if I would sell my car to him. Selling my car was the furthest thing from my mind. I didn't even ask him to make me an offer. I think my heart skipped a beat just thinking about someone driving away in it.

I just bought an 02 GTS. I could have bought any generation viper, but to me the GenII GTS was the only model Viper that got my attention

Even the gen V? I would definitely upgrade to that if I had the means :drive:

I went through this recently. I thought about selling my Roe GTS but when I went through the list of what I would replace it with, I couldn't come up with anything with the power, rawness and rarity. Even a Gen V.

If you have the means I would upgrade (I did, actually) to a G4 ACR...there is no better weekend 'blaster' weapon on the market...maybe you will find someone who wants to trade? Its possible, pricing is all over the place. Nobody knows what a Viper is worth. A Viper is a Viper right? LOL If you haven't driven a G4, don't unless you want to be hooked on the rush of power that just doesn't come from a G2. Not trying to start a debate here, I love both cars, but the power curve is something totally different on the new motor.

G4 is a cool car, more of a race car look but the g1 and g2 hood just grabs me.

I agree 100%.. Not putting those down that own Gen 4s and up but The GTS in my eyes is one of the most iconic and beautiful cars ever made. Not luxurious, She lets you know she is there and when you become to complacent she will bite you! Truly my first love! Keep it or get a GTS!

I've always thought of it this way...

I could eat, live, sleep in a Gen I/II. There's just so much magic about it nobody can get me away from it. It's a racecar for the street. It's raw and unforgiving, makes the driving an experience you never want to end. It kicked ass everywhere.

I could probably road race a Gen III/IV all day, but I don't get that same total appreciation I get for the Gen I/II.

I still would love to test drive one and see the difference in power and feel. I have motons on my ride so I'd be curious on the feel of the ride.

^^^^ This.
I owned both at the same time and once I drove the ACR it killed the enjoyment of the Gen 2 for me.
Faster, even more outrageous looking, quantum leap in power, brakes, tranny, suspension you name it.

I have 2 gen II cars and an 09 coupe. Still prefer the appeal of the gen II the most. If you decide to sell contact me if the car is original. Exhaust upgrades ok.

Don't get me wrong because I think they are all great but comparing a Gen2 to a Gen4 is like comparing an E type Jag to it's successor the XJS...

Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.

Best Gen2 vs Best Gen3 vs Best Gen4

The I-IIs are, without question, Vipers. Even non-car people know one when they see one. The III-V's are always in danger of the uninformed "Nice Vette" remarks.

The V's I dont think will. Yes, the C7 may confuse people but I think it looks so much like the Gen II that it wouldn't be confused.

Agreed! They have more power fact but Its not like we can even use the power we have in the Gen II anyways so might as well go with looks lol.. I The Gen V is pretty Nice. Dodge Nailed It! I love it.. But for Now until I can pick a Gen V up I am sticking with my FE GTS! She is Beautiful!

THIS! You guys can talk ALL you want about the Power, Handling & Nicer Interior & EVERYTHING Else on the Gen. IV's but it's just NOT going to have that Gen. II LOOK! jmo! And, by the way Zee I'm gone for awhile & NOW you're thinking about all this! Lol! I know what you mean though, I went thru the same thing about a couple of months ago. I had a guy that offered me a Really good price, Especially for a Cream Puff! Lol! But, my son Shane was about to Dis-Own me! The ONLY way I would ever even think about getting rid of mine is IF I came across a 97' B/W (I know some people like the 96's but I at Least want a lil' more of the upgrade from the 97') OR if I bought a New one (just because they went back to the OLD Body Style & ALL the upgrades of course) but I've also Always said I just couldn't justify paying Over 100k for a car! Maybe own 3 at 40k each, just not that much for ONE! GL Zee, you change your mind more than a Female! Lol!

The Viper (no matter the year) is and will always be the only American built sports car I will ever own. They just did it right imo with the Viper.
