any srts available for say 65 k?

Considering we're now seeing new 04's for around 76K, it shouldn't be too hard to find an 03 with 10K miles or so for that figure.

Re: Dyno HP #\'s, 3.55\'s vs 3.07\'s You may lose a few HP but you will gain mucho torque! ;)

Stereo... Why do they sound so BAD?

I replied to this once, but it's not showing, wtf? Anyway, to summarize what I already sent once to the site, you can do the speakers yourself if you're familiar with that kind of thing. Be sure the crossover box for the speakers is installed clear of window glass travel. Stock amp works fine...

Stereo... Why do they sound so BAD?

That's for sure. I spent about a grand on my RT and probably could have gotten 90 percent of the sound with just speakers. The built-in unit and amp is OK, just needs decent speakers. For those with interest, I put in a new Alpine head unit with ACC-input so I could run my XM Roady, a new...

AC experts - little help needed...

That's what I was afraid of. Oh well, thanks. A local service guy will evacuate it for 60 bucks. Or, I could just psssssss... :)

    curb rash

Agree with Andrew... these things are designed to get curb rash. I've never seen a wheel that had such a large bead sticking out beyond the tire...

AC experts - little help needed...

OK, I bought the five dollar tool at NAPA and tried tightening the Schrader valve on the low side (which is leaking!). It still leaks. I tried loosening it and re-tightening - still leaks. What next? I do NOT want to have to take this into a Dodge dealer if at all possible.

    Squealing truck breaks

Had stock pads and they squealed and made dust. Put on Brakeman 3's and they still squeal and make dust, but now the car stops. ;)

    Rev Limitations

If all you want to do is run 1/4 miles, the Viper is a waste of time. Sure, there are guys here running nines in snakes, but the cost and effort to do so is high, and you end up with an expensive vehicle that is little better at road racing than before. The Vette is also compromised for 1/4...

    Kuhmo Sand Blasting

OK, good info. But one question, where can I get a small sheet of either the 3M or the XPEL (off-brand) stuff? Local supplier says he "used to carry it" until 3M changed their policy. I'd just like to get enough to cover the areas of maximum impact. Thanks, all.

    Kuhmo Sand Blasting

Thanks for info, Cudaman, but I called the local shop that does this service and was quoted "400-800" and that was before I told him it was a Viper, lol. Just too much for my blood. Now, if I could buy a couple of sheets of it, I'd put it on myself - I don't care if it's a little sloppy 'cause...

    Kuhmo Sand Blasting

I've been running rears now for around 2k miles, and noticed the leading edge of the rear fender wells look like they have been shotgunned with bird shot. I expected this, and wouldn't give up the traction the Kuhmos provide for anything, but what have people found most effective in protecting...

Call JonB at Parts Rack - he was a few bucks cheaper for me, as well.

Going to drive the 2005 Vette

:headbang: What jeff said! :headbang: Coming from the Corvette world, the real revelation for me has been the attitude of the former "Corvette Club compatriots" on hearing I'd "defected" to the ranks of Viper. Two will still talk to me at cruise-ins around town; most avoid me and many are...

Are Kumhos as responsive as Pilot Sports on the street?

I plan to order some spare rears pretty soon, as I'm terrified they might stop making these someday. I never want to be without them on my Viper, they're night and day improvement. Need to get the 3M stuff though, the lips of the rear fenders are beginning to look chewed up after less than a...

SRT Coupe to be announced at VOI 8

As for the hemi stuff, viper = V10! End of discussion. We don't need no stinkin hiimmmeee. God perish the day they "corvetteize" our snakes. (Mass market them)

    Brembo Brake Kit Sale

Why not improve ventilation, pads, and fluid and go with the Incyte rear and stock front calipers? I put on Stoptech Stage II, with SS lines and slotted rotors (fronts even save a couple of pounds unsprung weight) then Brakeman 3's and Motul fluid. Should handle moderate track activity - can...

    The VCA needs your feedback

In the past twenty-five years, since I bought my first new car, I've mostly bought imported cars. Simply put (and apart from Vettes, Vipers, and trucks) US cars tend to suck. Or, they did until fairly recently. I'm very impressed by the gains made by Detroit in the past ten years or so, and...

    Brembo Brake Kit Sale

just an unabashed plug for Tom's Incyte Technologies rear caliper solution to 17 inch Gen II'ers like me. The original (17 inch wheel) front caliper is a healthy unit made by Brembo and the rear is a cheesy single piston model, also made by Brembo. By drilling out the rear piston as Tom does...

Can someone tell me the benifit of 3.55 gears?

Jon, what you are saying is counter-intuitive to me. Did you try putting on some decent tires on the rear? It just doesn't make sense that with a couple hundred foot pounds more torque that you couldn't run faster. I have NO problem with traction now, I and I'm putting down about 430 RWHP...
