The map sensor is just a pressure gauge. It measures the pressure difference between the manifold and atmosphere. The Viper uses a speed density scheme for controlling the fuel and spark. I haven't torn apart the Viper map sensor but I would bet it's a diaphragm type. The pressure difference...
Some tenders come with a quick connect. Otherwise you could go to Radio Shack and get some type of male/female two pin connector and add it on to your cable.
I got pulled over a few weeks ago. The cop asks me if I knew I had to have a front plate, I say that it didn't come from the factory with a plate bracket so I thought I didn't have to have one. Then he tells me he wouldn't give me a warning ticket if he could see my car... he just needed an...
They won't. Just keep your NY driver's license until you do get the car registered. If you do get stopped you can always make up a story that you're here on some temporary job and that you go back to NY every few weeks.
Re: Smokin\' - not the usual kind
I burned a hole in my pant leg one sunny morning while standing next to the car talking with my neighbor. Dodge did a good job of dishing the wheels just right, they make great solar concentrators.
Yes, it's sucking air because it is supplying air to the engine to keep it running, the butterflies are closed when idling. There is a solenoid on the block that is controlling the airflow through this tube.
The passenger-side tube is your bypass air inlet (used for idle control). That line doesn't really have to go into the airbox, you could just put a filter on it. the tube on the driver side is your crankcase (valve cover) vent. There is a small foam-like filter in the airbox that it connects to...
My front latches would periodically work themselves loose. Scared me to think what would happen if they released so I made a set of pins to fit into the latches and which are held in-place by velcro. No more worries.
It might be that they were too cheap to ruin two cars just for the sake of peace of mind of those who want to omit the spare. Crash worthiness is the result of a real test. The car comes from the dealer with a spare so that's the configuration they wanted the worthiness certification for. It...
These graphs don't agree. If a stock rear (3.07) car is doing about 3,000 lbs in first then a 3.55 rear will give about 3,470 lbs (not over 3,700 as the second graph shows).
What a coincidence. I got mine on Saturday and had the same problem. I worked for hours trying to purge it. I finally decided the #$%@ thing is defective and am sending it back.
Re: HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN 02\'S GO BAD?
I agree with JonB, happened to me on my Chevy. I suspect Viper O2's are no different than others. The computer only checks to see if the output voltage is within the right range. It has no way of checking if the thing is putting out the right voltage for...
I haven't tried it myself yet but a couple of Vette guys I know shoot their rims with anti-static spray (I think 3M sells it)and claim it really helps. Seems there is a static electricity charge on the brake pad particles and that causes them to stick to the rims. I am going to give it a try...
I get this code whenever the fuel tank gets near empty. On a cold start the LDP is activated and pressurizes the system to check for leaks. I think the pump can't quite get the system pressurized when it is mostly compressible air instead of incompressible fuel and so it throws that code. This...
