Anyone know of a good shop to take my 96 Viper to in Bellevue, WA?

The Dodge Dealer would be my first stop, that can go really great or it can be a huge disappointment. Meet the service manager, have a conversation about what you want done, and meet the Viper tech to have that same conversation. You will either have a sense of confidence in how they will...

New Gen 3 Owner - easy questions

A Borla cat-back exhaust eliminates the H pipe under the center of the car. The heat inside goes away and the side sills don’t get hot like with stock. Find the part number of the trunk liner and Google it, there are several Mopar only online dealers that heavily discount parts. Sounds like...

First Time Gen II GTS Buyer - Need Advice

Seems you are getting beat up here pretty good because you keep saying “investment.” But reading your first post it appears that you just want a car that you really love, can enjoy, and perhaps don’t lose your a$$ on if you decide to sell it, am I right? If so, that red with white stripes...

    old age problems

So happy that this was sorted out! The suggestions from everyone are very educational, to me at least. Nice to see such support! Incredible that so many fuses were affected all at one time. There is a product called DeOxit D100 that I would highly recommend for any electrical connection. It...

Can a fault code clear itself?

Drove a few miles to the store, got back in to head home and guess what!? The CEL is gone!!! Yes! So in this case it took three short drives / cycles to clear the code.

Can a fault code clear itself?

I did something stupid today. At a light I started off in 3rd gear instead of 1st, of course that went almost nowhere and I grabbed 2nd since I was sort of moving and went on. Look down at the dash and my CEL is on. I tried to reset it with the battery disconnected but got nowhere. Turned...

How to clear a stored fault code?

How do I get a stored fault code to clear? I tried disconnecting the battery for a while, but no luck.

Battery Dies - Old LoJack System?

On my Gen III I had the same issue, 2-3 days parked at the airport and I needed a jump. The issue was with the alarm drawing from the battery, it was related to the part (sensor?) that is under the hood. I can't remember if they replaced that part or just cleaned and reset it. No issues...

    2003 with RR wheel grinding.....

See post #4 above. I know it sounds too simplistic, but that Mopar Friction Modifier is absolutely required, without it you get the grinding noise when turning at tighter radiuses.

Is This A Good Deal? 2003 Viper

^ What MoparMap said. ^ The accident must be a huge factor in that price, or at least I really hope it is! It's dirt cheap. The addition of the Gen 4 hood does not put me off really, especially given that price; OK, maybe it does just a little. But that rear wing does put me off; it doesn't...

Trying to buy 2013 Viper - But was in an accident

From the primer spray job it appears that the bumper and hood / fender were just repaired (with what, I have no idea!), they were not replaced with new parts. That is not the correct way to correct the damage, I’m actually shocked that they did it to that car! Be prepared to pay to completely...

    Headlight Lens Covers

Hum, I thought I was the only one with those horizontal cracks! I have them on only one lense. Since you did not see them when they had a protective film the logical conclusion is that clear protective film will make them invisible to the eye. I am not all that bothered with it at the moment...

    high beam switch problem

Hey a Creese, couldn’t have done it without you! I ran in to two snags though, and for future DIYers I add them here. My clamshell was very tightly secured together even though the two screws were removed, it felt like it would break with the force I had to use to pull it apart but it...

    high beam switch problem

The MFS is pricy, about $200 from the dealership, but about $87 (plus shipping handling and tax, so $115) from a Dodge dealer on eBay or from a Viper specialty online vendor. I don’t know if it is found on any other Dodge vehicles, hopefully it is so that it remains available.

    high beam switch problem

This is what my car is doing, touch the MFS to activate / deactivate the right turn signal and the fog lamps come on, to get them off I have to twist the switch back super tight. They do come on sometimes just driving down the road! Really irritating, and risky of running down the battery if I...

    high beam switch problem

Hi, I have a MFS on order and will be tackling this same job this weekend. Any advice about the removal process would be much appreciated! Would you please confirm for me that your new MFS was just the lights related stalk on the left side, that it did not include the windshield washer stalk...

Water in rear tail light ‘04 convertible

I’ve got a ton of condensation (water) in a rear tail light. Just wondering if others have experienced this and how to approach the issue. I could order a replacement but I’m wondering if I need to go to that extreme or is this a simple fix. Thank you for all replies!

    2003 with RR wheel grinding.....

It may be the differential fluid. Did you or previous owner change it? This car REQUIRES not just the fluid but also a small bottle of friction “modifier” additive. Change the differential fluid and make sure the additive is used, that horrible grinding sound will be gone.

    Heater Control Valve Stuck Open?

Thank you MoparMap! I’m not sure why it was blowing hot air (set on fresh air only) on a pretty cool day, but after reading your post I went ahead to check the r134a. It was low, just below the green zone, so I added 1/2 a can and it’s ice cold again. Thanks again for your expert information.

    Heater Control Valve Stuck Open?

Hello All, My AC was freezing me out one day and then coolish warm the next. It gets cool-cold with the AC on but not like before. We had a very chilly day the other day so I switched off the AC and the recirculating switch but the air coming out was very warm. I’m wondering what might be the...

2004 WANTS TO BUCK UNDER LIGHT LOAD

Apply smoother throttle input or more input and stop playing. But to really end the drama just shift up to 2nd much sooner than you are doing now. This is a common newbie issue, I went through the same learning curve and have seen this posted many times.

2004 car: Bucking at low throttle positions???

The #4 wire was cracked, inside. I had a new set of wires installed and man what a difference!!! It’s easy to forget that original feel of the car over years of time, but it’s back. 14 year old plug wires are just not a good idea to run on. Thanks to both of you for the advice.

2004 car: Bucking at low throttle positions???

I had put some Techron in the tank and soon had a misfire on cylinder 4. Changed out all of the plugs and everything was great! Now about 300 miles later the car was ‘bucking’ every time I up shifted and slowly rolled on the throttle. It was driving me nuts and I questioned whether or not I...
