Ron - Thanks for the information, but sounds like they are trying to make back their tooling cost on the first piece sold. That's ridiculously expensive for a part that should cost $5 each. I will call them to see if that price is correct, and if so I will find another way to deal with the problem.
Kevin - Thanks for the picture, but the earlier ACRs had a plastic part that trimmed the slot so that you did not see the raw edge. JonB is trying to find the source for it.
I am also researching the 5-point belt for a GTS and have learned that the most desireable set-up seems to have the cam lock on the crotch belt, so that it can be pushed under the seat when not in use. The other belts that have the cam lock on the shoulder straps or lap belt, get in the way...
How about someone coming up with a way to control the fog lights on/off from the stock light switch when the high beams are on. The switch moves in and out to do this for the low beams, so why can you not wire it to do this when the high beams are on. This way you could elect to turn off or on...
Does anyone know where I can buy the plastic trim piece that is on the ACR where the shoulder belt comes through the bulkhead. I don't think that it is available from Dodge as a seperate item. I want something to hide the cut slot in the bulkhead as was done on the ACR.

I had the same pre-ignition problem after installing try-y headers. I am using the NGK plug: FR5-1 (NAPA 7252) and no longer have the problem. This plug is just slightly colder and does seem to fix the problem.
When you are changing the plugs, if you can find access to a borescope, stick it...
Nadine - Make sure that you have the right parts. There should be a total of 6 parts to the two headers, with no two parts the same. If any parts are exactly the same, then you do not have the correct parts for the system, since all parts are different in some way. I have heard of this...
Nadine - I put my B&B stainless set on last year and also had a problem with the fit on the passenger (right) side. The pipes would not go around the engine mount and the bends coming off the block were too far outboard, causing interference with the frame. I send drawing describing the...
I don't think that the Viper has a sensor for the level of the fluid in the reservoir, at least not on my 97. Overfilling it will not turn off the light. There is a sensor in the combination valve that senses pressure loss. This sensor could be defective, or you could have a leak in the system...
I like the 3M Paint Protection film covering the front fascia, mirrors, side sills, and behind rear wheels. If it gets damaged, you just pull it off and reapply new material. Sometimes a little of the adhesive is left on the surface, but 3M has an adhesive remover that easily takes it off...
If any of these headers have slip tubes instead of bolted flange connections, I don't see how they could possibly get a CARB certification due to the gas leakage at the slip joints.
If you are looking for stainless lines for the stock brakes, in my opinion, Eric Messley makes the best system, since he uses the stock rigid line hardware. He replaces the rubber lines with stainless and the rest is standard bolt on. By using the rigid line hardware, you do not have to worry...
Here's the pan that I have and it works very well to stop high-g starvation. It's made by K&P Engineering, 303-697-5821. It can be done with either the pre 2000 pan or the 2000 and after pan. I have the 2000 pan which holds 10 quarts and it works very well for me under track conditions. In my...
I agree with Fred. I have seen dyno data that shows that enlarging throttle bodies on engines that are nearly stock or that only have headers have resulted in a no power gain and often a loss of power.
You are better off without the covers since they were easy to knock off the car and when you wash the car, moisture gets behind them. You could cut the slots in the fascia and put them on, but I find it better to leave them off.
Ulysses - Deltran makes the cigarette lighter adapter that you are looking for, and it will connect to your charger. It is a motorcycle product. Call them on: 904-736-7900,Joe - tech. Or, you can make one with the permanent lead set that came with the charger. Simply buy a lighter plug from...
You could also have it clear powder coated, if you want to repair it. You would have to disassemble it completely including the roller and pin. The problem is dissimilar metal corrosion. When aluminum and steel are in electrical contact you get a voltage transfer between the two metals that...
In my opinion, it is not necessary to relocate the p/s reservoir. All you really need is a heat shield in front of the headers to stop the radiated heat. I have used this idea for three years and have had no problems after many track events. I mounted the stainless shield to the 7/16 threaded...
I also have Kip's knuckle brackets and have had no track problems with them since I installed them 1 year ago. Here's what they look like with a JetHot coating:
Re: What\'s the scoop on supercharging?
I have ridden in one of Ken Kerstein's cars where the flywheel output was around 700 hp.. It was impressive and seemed very streetable. My concerns are:
1. Ten lbs. of boost is rather high for this engine and I would question the durability of the V10...
The simplest way to do this is to put in a colder spark plug. A slightly shorter (colder) plug will slightly retard the timing by pulling back the ignition center in the cylinder. I use the NGK FR5-1 plug which is only slightly colder that the stock plug, but fixes the detonation problem that I...
The products of combustion of a hydrocarbon fuel are CO, C and H2O. The water changes into a vapor after the pipes get hot enough, but during warm up you will see it as water running out of the tailpipe.
