Quick Question:

Brake Console light keeps lighting up about every 3-4 months. Fluid level is already over max. Only about 3-4 tablespoons from overflowing. But if I put that extra amount in (over the MAX line) the light will go off. Bad Sensor? ?

Thanks for any help,
Gerald

I don't think that the Viper has a sensor for the level of the fluid in the reservoir, at least not on my 97. Overfilling it will not turn off the light. There is a sensor in the combination valve that senses pressure loss. This sensor could be defective, or you could have a leak in the system. You might try bleeding the entire system to see if it goes out. Three is also a sensor to detect when the park brake is on. This could also be defective and would also turn on the light. Thanks for the reply Jerry, However, upon overfilling, the light turned off (I mean way overfilled). I'm sure it will turn on again in a couple months.. Any ideas?

Have you pulled the spring or o-ring from the proportioning valve? Have you flushed and refilled your brake system and accidentally gotten the reservoir too low? You could have some air trapped in the combination valve or in the master cylinder.
