Take a look at this site to learn about 9011 and 9012 bulbs. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33710&item=7918892355&sspagename=rvi:1:1
I purchased the 65 watt 9011 bulb for my Audi high beam and replaced a 60 watt 9005. The 9011 was much brighter and...
I think that the stock rims are only coated with a clear lacquer and not powder coat. Powder coating is applied as a spray-on powder then heated in an oven to melt it into a smooth coating. It is much more durable than lacquer and will not be damaged by brake dust as is the case with lacquer...
Has anyone replaced the 9006 high beam bulbs in a 96 or 97 Viper with a 9011 Tosheba bulb? The 9011 was standard on the 98 and later Vipers and is a much brighter output. It requires grinding one of the three tabs on the bulb to a slightly narrower dimension to fit the 96 or 97 socket. My...
Any system that has slip joints will slightly leak and will gradually get worse. I would recommend the B&Bs with the 2000 deg. F. JetHot coating. This is what I have and they have been great. I used a NAPA graphite and steel gasket on the two bolt flanges and a solid copper flange on the...
Hammering out the broken or stripped stud can damage the wheel bearing race. It is best to use the ball joint puller that the manual recommends. Use anti-sieze on the studs next time and they won't gall as they do when dry.
Re: I need someone in NY/NJ/PA with a jack and jack stands (X-Ray our Viper
I used to sell Sperry 300 KV machines and the company later became Staveley. I am no longer in the NDT business, but who do you work for that has a 3.8 MeV portable x-ray machine?

You will find that while you are learning with an instructor in the car, you will not be able to talk to him with a full faced helmet. The open faced helmets make it much easier to communicate over the roar of the exhaust and the wind in the side windows.

I got my extended warranty several years ago from Bob Woodhouse (or Bill Pemberton) at 800-889-1839. At the time it was the best deal around.

Most of the long time owners have been through this shifter thing and find that the after market B&M and the SVS shifters work ok on the street, but on the track they were very easily mis-shifted with the dreaded third back to second when you wanted third to fourth. This mistake can blow...
I have tried the Velcro and it just doesn't work. The best solution is to get a metal grommet kit from a hardware store and put one through each back corner of the mat. Then put a zip tie around the each front leg of the seat. Now get two releasable zip ties from Ho Depo and put these through...
McLeod makes a very nice flyhweel for the Viper. I have one with the stock clutch and have had no driveability problems. Get the clutch and flywheel balanced as an assembly before installation. http://www.mcleodind.com/index.asp
I still maintain that the best cats are the stock ones opened to three inch diameter by cutting off the tapered ends. I have these with JetHot 2000 coating and they work very well. This with the Borla cat back system makes for a great sound.
The stock cats can be easily modified by cutting off the ends of the tapered pipe and opening them to 3 in. diameter, then rewelding to your aftermarket 3 in. pipe. They are a little less noisy than the aftermarket cats and have the internal element designed for the volume of the V10. They are...
It all comes down to which car company is paying for ad space in the magazine. Right now Dodge is not spending the money for Viper ads, so the cudos go to those who do.
I know of two Viper owners here in Denver.

Sorry but don't have phone numbers, but I checked the phone book and Jim's number may be: 303-697-9196

Re: Where can I get 3
Burns Stainless sells some very nice aircraft type clamps. The 3 in. are $10 each. Phone is: 949-631-5120 in Costa Mesa, CA.

The Viper Club uses: Dyno-Pro, 5330 Tennyson St. Denver, phone: 303-455-2443. Ask for Bear. This is near Sheridan & 52nd. We will likely have another dyno day next year in May or June.

I had the SVSI unit about 2 years ago. Since the ratios are reduced and the springs for the gates are very weak, I found it to be very dangerous for the dreaded 3-2 mistake. It might be ok for the street, but not at all usable on the track, at least for me.
Kip Partridge has a Hnsy shifter he will sell for $175. Call him on 303-697-5821.
I have a Word write-up for changing the shifter from under the car. Send me a request and I will e-mail it.
