    Factory gasket that has been on the car since new, studs are part of the main cap bolt, which were torqued to spec at the factory.

    the main bearing cap bolts have 1/4 20 studs on the bottom of them to hold the oil baffle in place. The studs in the rear of the engine touched the inside of my oil pan, not sure why.

    No pics, but you can clearly see the imprint of each stud on the inside of the pan.

    Anyone ever hear of the studs holding the oil baffle on hitting the bottom of the oil pan? I have an 01gts and have a tiny crack in my pan, caused by the two studs actually hitting the oil pan. Any ideas?? I have the fix, just wondered if anyone had ever seen this?

    New issue with Paxton on Gen3

    Do you have an a/f gauge in the car? Have you pulled the plugs and read them? My opinion is you are playing with fire. Ensure your timing and air/fuel are in line at a minimum. These things aren't the cause of your problem, but if they are wrong you may be replacing your engine.

    So it probably really doesn't matter which hose on the heater core I'm guessing. Also, someone mentioned fill with the upper radiator hose off until fluid runs out, then connect and fill until it won't take anymore. I'm guessing this is done with the car turned off?

    Can someone describe filling the system from the upper heater core hose? I remember Tator told me about it years ago on my gen 1, just don't remember the details.

    Thanks for the offer drlee, I hope to take mine to Rex radiator in bensenville for a recore. I have heard they are very good. Will be dropping it off Monday.

    I have always been happy with the cooling on my car, so I will probably just have it redone 2 row. Car is mostly stock and not a track car. Getting it back in will be fun though, that hinge on the drivers side is a pain. I loosened it and it made it a bit easier.

    Hey all, Just discovered a tiny leak on the radiator of my 01 GTS. I was going to pull the radiator and have a local shop repair it instead of going aftermarket. Anyone else gone this route?

    I have a very clean sapphire/silver with tasteful mods that I would let go, only problem is it has 35,000 miles. I put on about 7,000 per year. Car has only seen rain twice in the 3 years I have owned it.

    Best of luck. I have been trying to sell a set of HRE 541's with decent tires for $2500, not much interest. Take the tires off and sell them separately.

    belanger drone

    I have full Belanger on my 01GTS, I get drone, but its worth it. I can scare small children and old ladies at will. I have been told many times how wicked my car sounds. I had a nice stereo system installed, it easily overcomes the drone on the highway. Best of luck.
