    Cold Start

Don't start it unless you plan on driving it at least 10 to 15 miles. Leave it shut down, with a battery tender hooked up, for the winter hibernation. It really is the best thing you can do for the car. In PA., it usually lasts 3 to 4 months....it is what it is!

I've spent over $5000 in the past 8 days! Viper aftermarket is addicting!

Re: I\'ve spent over $5000 in the past 8 days! Viper aftermarket is addicting! Oh, how I know this feeling! Rest assured, it only gets worse as time goes on. Your in central PA., and the winter has sucked big time in our part of the world. Those Florida and California guys love to rub it in as...

I just got into the Hot Rod Magazine Pump Gas Drags!

Give 'em hell, Paolo! Got that feeling that all they'll see is your license plate. Shame it's not a "run what ya brung" drag race. You'd really put a hurt on those egos. Good luck....no missed shifts.

corsa cat back question for those who have it?

I installed the 3" system with the Random Tech hi flo cats a couple of years ago, right after the 3" system was released by Corsa. I probably have about 3000 miles on it now. Don't notice any unusual residue from the exhaust system. What you may be seeing is the typical backwash of road...

    PCM Programming now available!!! L@@K!!

Well, I've also been waiting very patiently, but this time Mother Nature has done the screwing! Sent my PCM to Jason the first week in January and discussed my car with him...'99 GTS, smoothies & K&N's, Heffner air box, 3"Corsa w/ RT Hi-Flo's and a 3.55 diff. Car always runs on Sunoco 94...

    Optima Battery question

The poor guy who asked a simple question.... Trust me, I asked the same question a while back. You're probably best to follow your own judgement. My old battery was the stock Mopar unit (which was 4+ years old) that I just plain over-cooked when my Battery Tender went on the fritz without me...

    Optima Battery question

I don't race my car but did replace the battery recently with a Diehard Gold series...I believe it was a 78, the one listed in the Sears info for my car, a '99 GTS. It is a full sized battery, not one of those mini ones. 7 year warranty with the first 2 years at 100% replacement and prorated...

    Alarm is dead...what happened??

Just like the manual said...."press both buttons within 10 feet of the car and within 10 seconds the alarm will chirp signifying that the re-sync has occured". Everything in the Viper world is perfect...other than it's winter in Pittsburgh and the car is in bed. Happy New Year!

    Alarm is dead...what happened??

Steve...just read your response which caused me to do the incredible thing...read the owner's manual! Probably just what you said, dead battery can cause the alarm to be out of sync. Will try to re-sync today, but do appreciate your tip. Thanks again!

    Alarm is dead...what happened??

Just before Christmas, I posted a message regarding a dead battery and what size DieHard to buy. I've got a '99 GTS and the "78" series DieHard Gold fits perfectly, so that issue is behind me. But...now the alarm system won't engage. Drove the car after the battery was installed and she ran...

    New Battery Question

First and before anything else, Merry Christmas to everyone! Now the battery question...my '99 GTS finally crapped out the battery. Even with a steady diet of the Battery Tender between driving, she finally gave it up. Checking the forum, I decided on a new Diehard Gold. Just too many mixed...

Raised "Viper" on the head covers getting dull

Re: Raised I tryed the pencil eraser and didn't do diddeley (no relation to Bo). Also tryed some Comet and that didn't work...still looking for a clue.

    SRT 10 VENOM 600

I must be losing it in my middle ages...I just read that article this morning and it said with the Venom 600 SRT/10 that he did 0-60mph in the 3.6 second range and 11.6 (or maybe it was 11.4) second range for the quarter mile. Never saw (or that I can remember) anything about being in the 10's...

    Question about rear-end ratio

This question seems to appear every 30 to 60 days...check the archives for lots of talk and facts on the subject. Lots of opinions and as the saying goes, like a butt, everyone has one. Anyway, I did switch to 3.55's (same as 3.54's) and like them a bunch. Quicker seat of the pants feeling...

    '99 exhaust mod recommendations

Re: \'99 exhaust mod recommendations Same car that I have and here's what I did....Corsa 3" system, Random Tech hi-flo cats. Sounds great at idle (lumpy cam), sounds good at normal acceleration, and when you nail it, sounds like a ballistic missle. Lots and lots of compliments...highly...

Lost to a Mustang........I'm so ashamed

Re: Lost to a Mustang........I\'m so ashamed Hmmmm....good idea. Check the SVT Forums to learn more about the subject. The authenticity of the SVT Forum data is above challenge and question. OK, I still won't buy it! What kind of horsepower and torque is necessary in an '03 Mustang, with it's...

Lost to a Mustang........I'm so ashamed

Re: Lost to a Mustang........I\'m so ashamed No flames intended, but I do have a question regarding this thread. Before I start, I do think the new s/c mustang is a neat car, but hardly in the league of a Viper. OK, now with just $1800 in mods (heck, my 3"Corsa cost $1200!), those reported...

3.55 gears and HF Cat comments

I think we're set up just about identically. 3" Corsa, Random Tech H/F cats, tubes and K&N's, Magnecors...and I've got Heffner's air box mod. Love the car the way it is now...sounds perfect, runs like hell!

    RT/10 vs. GTS visibility

I'm putting on the Nomex as I write this.... If you like driving fast and nimble cars, you'll love the Viper and can get used to the visibilty issues fairly quickly. IMO, you will likely never stretch out and be totally at ease driving this car in most every day situations. It is just too quick...

    Battery tender $16.99....link

Just bought a brand name "Battery Tender" at Pep Boys for my wife's M/B. Price was $69.95. I've owned an additional "Battery Tender" which I've had on my Viper for several years. Both look substantially different than the one you've shown. Just looks like there's more substance to the real...

    3.45 or 3.54

Grape....To each his own, I guess, but you may want to re-think your comment. Assuming this Viper is your pride and joy, I'd check those gears you got such a good deal on. At your price, bet they're Dana 44's. That gear set will indeed fit a Viper but it's designed and actually manufactured by...

    3.45 or 3.54

I went thru this same question when I got mine done a couple of years ago on my '99 GTS. Had mine done at Unitrax with the Super Dana gear set. Not sure anybody alive could tell the difference seat of the pants wise on 3.45's vs. 3.55's. Mine are 3.55's and I love 'em.

    ANYONE IN THE PITTSBURGH AREA??????

Don I live in a suburb of Pittsburgh and might be able to help you out. I also have an outstanding Viper tech at my dealership where I've purchased two new Vipers, who I'm sure could look the car over mechanically if you'd like. Let me know...Rob

    Suggestion on 1st Viper

Here we go with opinions again, and mine's a little different. I've owned both a '95 and a '99 that both of which were bought new. The '95 was a great car and I dearly loved it, but the '99GTS is a much better car. Designed better, handles better (much better, in fact) and runs stronger. I miss...
