    Cost to go forged

I'm not going to debate the poor head design - flow #'s don't lie and saying they are based on an almost 40yr old design isn't saying much when there has been so much development in port and quench/chamber design. Likewise, a 488ci engine putting down ~400rwhp (remember, we're talking about...

    Cost to go forged

I agree - a lot of Viper owners have excess $$ to pour into their cars, and the limited aftermarket vendors seem to capitalize on this. Some of it can be explained by the relatively low # of Vipers, so the market to recoup any investment is limited. For its displacement, the Viper is a poor...

    OBD II Error.... Help ?

From the code, The P0135 is the heater for the first O2 sensor on the side that has the #1 cylinder (Bank 1 sensor 1). Headers can mess with the heat up time for the sensor. I don't know if this can be dialed out in the PCM with Vipers or not. In the meantime, I'd just clear the code and see if...

New Viper owner - looking for missing parts

Maybe add some plug wire looms to keep them from melting, too!:)

I dig the wheels, too, and wondered if anyone knew the brand/type?

    Reading between the lines....

Re: The axe is coming The Challenger is ill-timed at best, as the current design Mustang GT has been selling over 75000 units (yes, that # does NOT include the V6 model). Even the Shelby GT500's total production for 2007 comes to 10,844 units, and that was for a $50K Mustang that Ford...

    Winter 2008 Viper Magazine

Haven't received my magazine (or anything at all for that matter).:( Was I supposed to get something in regard to my raffle ticket purchase?

    ROE or DCP PCM Flash?

The SCT does the fans and eliminates the CAGS, too, plus you can always re-install the stock tune whenever you may need to. Also, Roe and Dan @ VSP can send you other tunes to upload, should you make additional mods in the future.

    ROE or DCP PCM Flash?

I have the SCT Tuner from Roe but haven't installed either of the tunes yet. I am doing a few mild mods and I'm going to see if I can make a deal with a dyno shop nearby to see about getting some #'s for some before and afters. So far the only thing I've used it for is to check for codes. Sorry!

    Spark Plug Torque

I know I'll get hammered for this, but I've never used a torque wrench for any plug change I've ever done on a car. Not bragging, just never seemed necessary. Most plugs have a sort of crush washer, so you just tighten them until they don't turn easily with the ratchet, then tighten them a...

Roller Rockers? Worth the upgrade or not?

I am positive I read at least one thread where someone did this, as this is what I would like to do. I don't understand why it isn't done more often, as it seems like a good bang for the buck (although BFTB doesn't seem too important around here).

    Floor mats: Which to choose?

I bought mine from the vendor listed above and was very happy with him. I am pretty sure you can get the mats anyway you want them - plain, black, pink with "K-car power," whatever!

Question from a new Viper owner

I never understand people who don't modify their performance car. Unless it's some sort of trailer queen collectible, any true enthusiast (IMO) wants MORE power, speed, braking, handling, etc. No putdowns or name calling, but a gearhead mods their car, whether it's a Supra, Viper, 'vette...

    Having Clutch Problems, Any Ideas?

If the clutch pedal is sort of just "flopping around," odds are it's the slave cylinder, although I think Mopar calls it a "release bearing" It sits on the shaft that goes into the front of the tranny.

Is pinning the crank an absolute must when installing a paxton?

Granted, I am coming from the Corvette side of forced induction, but since the Viper crank pulley is also just an interference (pressed on) fit, then you should ALWAYS pin the crank. There have been instances of crank pullies coming loose even without a blower. You should be able to do it...

    Code Scanners

Any OBD2 with CAN capability should be able to read codes from virtually any '96-present vehicle. Some are fancier than others, which typically means enhanced features such as being able to turn off CEL's, reading other parameters, downloadability, etc., but all can do the basic code read...

    BAZ inspired me! (detailing thread)

All I used was Simple Green (is people!!:omg: ), terry towels, rags, whatever as I throw them out because they get so disgusting, and a screwdriver to get the towels into tight spots and crannies where my fat fingers can't get to!:eater:

    BAZ inspired me! (detailing thread)

With my RT/10 in the air for the next few weeks while I do modding/maint. work (exhaust, cats, shifter, brake pads, fluids), I was inspired my BAZ and his pics. When I pulled the wheels, I didn't plan on spending almost 2hrs on one wheelwell to clean things up, but it looked like there was...

    Tire Question

Yeah, I see Tirerack indicates they have them, but Michelin says they don't make them in that size any longer. Weird. :dunno:

Friend got his new Vette today

I guess I'm in the minority when I say that I don't think an automatic-equipped Viper would in any way dilute its image. Speed is speed. The new Porsche Turbo has the option of an auto. trans (aka Tiptronic) and it is even quicker than the 6sp. Who wouldn't call any 911 a sportscar??! Also, I...

    Tire Question

You'd be correct. Look on the inside of the other tire you can't find the DOT# for, as the previous poster suggested. There IS one on that tire. They don't make that model in the 335 width anymore (the PS2 is the newer version and comes in the standard Viper sizes), but I wouldn't see...
