Sorry guys. We do owe you an update and I'll be happy to do it when I get a few minutes free. The short story is: we...
Wait till after work when the car is completely cool, then turn the ignition on and see if the temp gauge still shoots up to 250. Mine did that and it was the temp sender for the gauge.
Well it looks like theres plenty of interest in stand alones for the Viper. Maybe you guys should tell AEM about it. I guess I can run low boost until late October.
.............Still waiting
Its amazing how lucky people with Hondas... Rx7s.... Supras... 300Zs.... are
for $1000 they can buy a full featured powerful plug and play stand alone engine management computer that plugs directly into the stock ECU harness and tap into full control of their car...
I believe NOS can cool an IC enough to make 50 extra HP, but I can't imagine an A/C system being efficient enough to cool an IC as much as NOS will without create as much if not more parasitic loss to the engine.
.02 =)
I have no doubts that Motec is the top dog in engine management. However, to accomplish what I need to do, its price is just excessive.
All I want is to tune my fuel and ignition maps to run under boost, and be flexible enough to handle future upgrades. And more boost =)
I'd love to see the...
I went to Vegas last weekend in the Viper and drove around the strip in traffic with the A/C on and 105 degrees outside. After about 20 minutes of driving, the temp gauge started climbing and when I shut off the car, the coolant boiled and overflowed out of the bottle in the bumper. The temps...
One thing I remember from auto shop was that coolant and Dr. Pepper share similar ingredients. Polyethylene glycol is under the ingredients in Dr. Pepper.
I've spoken to AEM and though they are not coming out with an EMS for the Viper, they told me someone is working on adapting the EMS to work with the Viper. Dan? =)
I'd love a Motec... but It costs 3 times as much as other stand alones.
If a plug and play EMS shows up sometime in the near...
I thought navigation systems used GPS for speed data. But if you still need it, the factory alarm module has a speedometer input going into it so that it can lock the doors after 8 mph.
I'd like to get an idea of how many people are running standalone engine management computers, which ones they're using, and their opinions on using it with the Viper. Anyone?
Well, I've looked at the wiring diagram, and It looks like it can be done. I'll try it out. If anyone else is considering doing it and want some more info feel free to email me. Thanks.
Anyone?
My stock alarm brain is going crazy. I'm about to replace it with an aftermarket alarm and use relays to control the door solenoids with the alarm cutting power to the relays when armed. Anyone done this before?
Run into any problems?
