What besides the paxton kit, new fuel system and the VEC II have you installed to get that amount of rhnp? Are you running dif injectors and fuel rails? What pully?
Thanks
Use what you like, and use 2 buckets. One for the soapy water and one filled with water to dunk your mit into after you have gone over a section of car. This way, no dirty gunk gets back into your bucket and back on to your car.
Car started, heater valve open, squeeze until theromostat opens, stop and drive car around. Let car cool completly and do again. It's a hassle. Remember, the cap will release pressure (air) while you drive as well just at little amounts.
Is anyone using a VEC II on a paxton Car? If so, do you have any VEC II maps that you have worked on that you could email so I can look at. I would love to see how they compare to what my tuner did. I'm hooking up a wideband in the next couple of weeks and want to see which card I have works...
HMMM. I still do not understand how it works (VEC Noob). You install the vec II (piggy back, but how much?). You place a card in the vec II. The pcm takes that info and "learns" what is on the card and tries to adapt to it. I understand that the pcm still functions. What confuses me is that if...
If you have a Vec II setup (2000 gts) does the VEC take over all control of the fuel maps and such? In other words, do the front O2 sensors come into play anymore, or is the VEC bypassing them?
Won-thanks for the post. I'm thinking it just may be the O2, but I'm not sure which one. I love gadgets, and I love trying to fix things myself. So maybe when I pull codes I'll be able to fix the prob. The one thing I have read is that with these headers, the front O2 sensors are farther down...
My car(2000 gts) came back from the tuner on tuesday. He installed tnt headers, a vec II, new fuel pump, etc. The car has 3 inch corsa exhaust with hi-flow cats. I fired it up today and I got a CEL. I never had a CEL before the headers were installed. When I was at the shop it did the same...
Yes, there WAS one on my car. The previous owner was able to get 60 more hp out of the car (Paxton) with it installed. And then about 15 minutes later, on the dyno, the engine blew up. They could never get the car to idle right with it. When I got the car, I plugged it in and it would not start...
Jack-thanks for all the great info. The headers are not coated, and I do have cats. DB-thanks for the great pic and description as well. This is exactly what I was looking for. Both of you just made it a lot easier.
Thanks again
I just bought a wide band a\f meter for my 2000 gts. The car has tnt headers installed. Where is the best place to install the bung, or can I just unscrew one of the O2's already in place and screw it in to that opening. Something tells me you can't do this. Any help or pics would be great.
Thanks
Thanks again. Your full of good info. I could get the heater hose fitting to work, but there is no way to place that big piece because there is no room on the upper radiator hose to place that. This sucks.
What's interesting is that the service manual does not tell you how to do this. Is that...
Thanks Chuck. I have somewhat of a prob when it comes to the squeezing of the upper radiator hose located on drivers side. This car is a paxton car. That piece which used to be rubber is now metal. There is no where for me to squeeze the upper radiator hose. Any paxton guys out there that can...
I just drove my car for the first time in 3 months and noticed it was running a little hotter then before. It was worked on as well during that time. It's much warmer then the last time I drove it, so this may be normal.
Reading the service manual it states that when the car is cold the...
Jack B-Did you drill another hole, weld a bung and install this unit all on it's own? Or do you unscrew one of the stock O2's and install it there. If you drilled out another hole, can you tell me where you did this? I have a 2000 gts w\a blower and I want to set one of these up so it's pretty...
Thanks for the info my friend. My car is at the tuners right now. Although it does not have a front mounted ic, it has a custom 2 core air/water ic mounted in a different local then the stock paxton kit. It also has a VEC2, a modified fuel pump and other goodies. The only thing it does not have...
Great numbers. I have a paxton car and there is no way my car will reach those numbers with the kit. I saw your pic, but I can't realy tell what he did to the motor. Do I see a front mounted IC, and different injectors? So please tell us what he did to get these numbers. What fuel pump(s)...
I have the optima in my 2000 gts. I had to bend the crap out of the tray to get it to fit. I wrapped the the frame with a bicycle inner to be safe. I also have a odyssey in another car of mine. Very low profile, but it's low on the cranking power with the amps I have in that car. They sell very...
Thanks for the tips. I know the guy since high school that will test the car. We will pre-test and hope for the best. I'll see if the tuner can come up with a card for the vec2 that wil make it run leaner.
