    Source for "factory" brakes

The universal front pad size code is D592. I have really grown to like the Hawk products and their HPS is a very popular compound. I shop through Pegasus quite a bit for their pads: https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/advcat.asp?CategoryID=HAWKCAR

Sourcing Obsolete Parts For Gen I and Gen II Vipers

3/4 and 5/8 - Are you talking about the wrench flats on the sensor? You need to focus on the pipe thread size in the block and the connector.

But, he has an HMS shovel nose on the car. IIRC, it has 2 small brake duct inlets low and nearer the center.

Amsoil 75w90 good for late model Gen2 transmissions?

I run AC-Delco GL-4 in mine at the moment and it was formulated for the Vette/Cad T-56 transaxles. I'm very pleased with the performance and I'm very hard on the synchros. About to make the leap into rebuilding my own T-56s.

What did you do to your viper today?

If you drive a lot in traffic, especially freeway stop 'n go, you'll be better off with the heavier wheel. The light one is more prone to bucking - for sure with a 708, or hotter cam.

    Service engine soon light on

Happens on my car with some frequency as I run it without the airbox in the garage now and then. Goes away by itself after 2-3 drive cycles.

What did you do to your viper today?

Saturday, I cleaned the transmission tunnel and rear subframe/diff/seatback partition area on the lift. The engine is out for a hone and rings and the trans came out with it. Some nights this week, I'll detail the engine compartment and suspension links. Rear shocks are coming out for new shaft...

Lots of truth bombs being dropped here. I'm a hard-headed DIY'er, but I generally enjoy the the hunt, the takedown and the messy bits. It adds to the personal satisfaction of a job well done. OTOH, I also deeply appreciate those folks who make a business of keeping the community supplied with...

paper spacer on camshaft sensor on 93

It's a little under the thickness of an average business card. Once you start the car, it works its way into the oil pan. It's too large to get sucked into the pump, and too soft to hurt anything.

My philosophy - if you're going to own and drive a Viper, you ought to own 2 or 3 of the same Gen.

At least is isn't the burned up and abandoned abomination that someone else around these parts decided needed the Phoenix treatment. There are lots of track-worthy cars out there at pretty modest entry costs. I suggest you cast your net a little further out.

    Paxton wheel hop

Dragsters call it tire shake. There can be a number of contributing factors, but until you get it figured out, start lowering air pressures and trying NOT to keep wheel-hopping it. Something is going to break and it won't be pretty.

    Paxton wheel hop

Try adding a little more rear toe-in. Also try dropping the rear pressures a couple of psi. What tires are you running, and how old are they?
