What is really covered in the Chrylser Extended Warranty?

Anyone know if there is a TSB or Recall for this? Just had the same thing happen and I can fix it with a "glass to metal" epoxy but this sounds promising. Any ideas?

cd player/speaker combo for 2000 gts

Any major brand CD player will out perform the stock unit. The most important thing it to make sure you get one with a high quality dampening system. Clarion, Eclipse, and Nakamichi are known for superb anti-skip dampening but others are equally good. Stay away from low priced Sony, Pioneer...

Does anyone have this??? and if so do u have pics?

Too much "bling bling" for me. Usually chrome body accents are reserved for luxury cars. Kinda takes away from the sporty look.

    My Avatar got stolen

I bought a Porsche shirt from this guy back in 2001. He had the same Viper GTS pics in blue and in red way back then. The one I received was a really cool pic but the shirt was the cheapest thing I ever saw. You could almost see through it. If he would put it on a Hanes beefy T for the same...

    Forgelines

I would like to locate a single or even a pair of Forgeline RS Competition wheels (the ones without center caps) for the rear of my GTS. I have one that I would like to replace due to cosmetics but might buy a pair if available and use the extra two for slicks. I'm pretty sure they still make...

    Shift Light

Use the Autometer shift light and put it in the center A/C vent. The air diffuser fits back on the vent and until the thing lights up no one even knows it's there. Another cool feature of this is you can move the fins on the air diffuser if the light is too bright.

    New wing for GTS!

They paid $0.72 for 8 screws?!? Stupid viper tax.

    NOS experts, opinions please

Better wear your safety glasses. That would be pretty sweet if it all goes well.

    Viper Frame a mess

Something's not right here. I have a 97 GTS with 20k miles that started its life as a track car at the Justin Bell driving school. My frame is just fine. In fact it's stiffer than any car I've owned. Even when washing the car you might see one or two drops sneak in around the window. Only...

    NOS experts, opinions please

Tom, As a nitrous dealer, what are your thoughts on the need for a "maximizer" type device? For the casual user (75-150HP) is it worth the extra $? I know NX has a new on now with lots of bells and whistles. Thanks

    NOS experts, opinions please

I spoke with Mike Woods of NX at the strip when this product was released because I was interested in nitrous for my 944 turbo. I asked him how in the world they came up with it and he said they didn't. He said an engineering firm in europe developed it for them and they were just selling it...

    Yellowing clear coat on wheels?!?!

Near my location there is a shop called "Wheel Connection" They specialize in wheel repair and refinishing. I believe complete stripping and refinishing with OEM finish runs from $75 to $100 per wheel. They can also repair any blemishes in the wheel at the same time. Find a company like this...

High Octane Fuels (101, 105+) in a Viper?!?

Well this has been fun. Thanks to those of you who actually had some first hand knowledge on this issue. This forum sure didn't turn out to be what I expected. I thought it would be a place for friendly and fun conversation between owners. I see now that this is not the case. Everyone is...

Best year to get for a GTS

At least I can spell genius :p It's ok though. If it makes you feel good to blast others on this board then by all means, feel free. Plenty of others actually have something worth while to say. :2tu:

High Octane Fuels (101, 105+) in a Viper?!?

Ah yes, name calling. The sign of pure genius. :2tu: You should run for office.

High Octane Fuels (101, 105+) in a Viper?!?

Thanks for the first hand info. After talking with a fuel expert I believe that my gains came from the oxygen and the cleaning effect the solvents had. Basically it restored power I had lost by cleaning the injectors and maybe freeing up the filter a bit. No "new" power. I think the oxygen...

Oh yeah. That was the year they practiced to make the 1997! :D

High Octane Fuels (101, 105+) in a Viper?!?

Thanks Ray. I guess I should have just shortened the post to "Will 105 octane gas damage my car?" Oh by the way for anyone interested, I found out that the TrackTek 105 gas I ran contains 17% ETBE which nets 2.7% oxygen by weight. While the oxygen **can** (didn't say would) bump power a bit...

High Octane Fuels (101, 105+) in a Viper?!?

WOW, someone sure took this personally. I didn't realize all viper owners were scientists. My only question was would it hurt the engine. Yes or No. I think I'll just stick to calling the helpful people at the viper performance shops when I have a question rather than be called a liar by...

High Octane Fuels (101, 105+) in a Viper?!?

I wouldn't put money on "50HP" but there was certainly a difference in pull during that tank and also in fuel efficiency since then. Also, the engine had a much stronger sounding idle. I would like to know if anyone else has ran 100 octane or higher fuel in their non-force fed Viper and what...

High Octane Fuels (101, 105+) in a Viper?!?

The concentration of the fuel for one. No being dilluted with other chemicals such as detergents and additives. Also even without a knock sensor some performance gain will be had because of more instantaneous and thorough combustion. If there is no knock sensor in the Viper then I would gues...

High Octane Fuels (101, 105+) in a Viper?!?

I have always found that running a tank of 101 Octane fuel through my previous performance vehicles (M3, 944 Turbo) two or three times a year has really done a nice job cleaning out deposits. Much better than the junk cleaners they sell to clean the combustion chambers. Another great thing is...

Which mod should I do next?

Ahhh...that would be wonderful. Unfortunatley I have a wife and she expects me to spend money on other things besides the car. I'm not sure what's wrong with her.

Which mod should I do next?

Yeah, I was thinking headers would be a good choice. Now I just need to figure out which ones. I planned on getting the seat mod before I even bought the car (6'3"). Of course here we are 6 months later and I still haven't done it. It's tolerable but an extra bit of left knee room would be...

Which mod should I do next?

Looking for advice from those of you who have traveled this road. I have a 97 GTS and as far as performance goes I have: Cats Removed Borla Cat-Back 3.43 Rear End K&N Drop-in Filters What's going to be the next logical step? The engine is 100% stock including the airbox. I'm not looking...
