I had my 2005 vert for 5 years so I'm no stranger to the Viper heat factor. In my vert, there were very few days where I could ride with the top up and the windows down. It just got too hot inside. I either had to ride with top down or ride with the top up, windows up, A/C on.
Wondering if...
I've noticed that in certain light conditions, my doors look a different shade of yellow than the rest of the car. I've ruled out a repair that was done before I bought the car since both doors are the same way.
Took me a couple years to notice. Perhaps the door panels are made out of a...
Who needs to spend $5000 on aftermarket wheels to be a baller?
These pics were taken in the same spot, with the same light, and the same camera.
BEFORE
AFTER (excuse the rust on the rotor. Car was washed while wheels were away)
Wheels just got back from CalChrome. I'll post some good before/after pics mounted on the car in a few days. I opted not to get a full polish of the inside barrels. Woulda been an extra $400.
Has anyone ever changed wheel bearing assemblies on the rear of an SRT-10. The service manual talks about having to pull apart half the rear suspension using all kinds of special "Viper tools" and such (screw that).
Looking at them however, it looks like all you would need to do is remove the...
I'm thinking about sending my stock wheels in for chroming. I have a pair of drag wheels that I can put on the car during the chroming process so I'll only have to leave one end of the car up on jack stands. I'd rather leave the back on stands versus the front.
Does anyone know if rear...
I was going thru by box of stuff that I've taken off my car for mods and such. Came across these bolts. If they came off my SRT-10, then I have no idea what they're for. Anybody recognize them?
For the hell of it I bought one of those tire durometers that measure rubber hardness. Below are the readings. Stock run flats loose.
BGF drag radials - 52
Stock run flats - 80
Kumhos on my daily driver - 72
Had my intake and TB off to install plug wires earlier in the week. Upon reassembly, I had the dreaded "hanging idle" that others have reported.
I remember reading here that Chuck Tator recommends periodic cleaning of the IAC motor. I pulled mine off and found that it was pretty dirty and...
For any of you folks who have removed your intake, do you remember what tool(s) or techniques you used to reach the next to the last rear bolt on the driver's side?
It's not the very last one under the wiper cowl but it's next to last one down inside the valley.
I was able to break it...
Typical fuel injector pictured below just like ours. How the heck do I get the connector off past the 2 nubs on the side. As usual, there must be some type of "secret" locking mechinism that I can't find and as usual, service manual is no help.
As usual I, broke my #9 wire trying to get it off. I've got a spare #10 on there now.
Anyone know of any issues running a #10 wire on the #9 plug. The #10 is about 4" longer than the #9.
A while back I removed my hood pad for good. I love the bare look.
If any of you guys plan on painting your hood pad and want something to practice on before you ruin yours, PM me your address and I'll send you the center section of mine with the Viper logo on it free of charge to practice...
How does it come off? I've removed the 2 screws up front under the arrows as well as the 2 screws behind the seats. The thing doesn't even wiggle. What's next?
I've tried lots of things to wash the brake calipers but the other day I tried one of those Swiffer Dusters. I dipped it in the soapy water bucket and it worked great. It's even thin enough the get in the tight spot between the the caliper and the wheel spoke. Held up great for all 4 wheels...
Daniel Lesser was correct on 1/14/06 when he said the smell of coolant permeates thru silicone radiator hoses. Based on the attached pic, I not only think the smell permeates the hose but that actually fluid permeates as well. Check out these little bubbles next to the clamp as well the the...
I have a K&N intake snorkel I’ll give away for free to anyone who wants it as long as they pay for shipping. This is just the snorkel and not the filters. I’ve finally had it with this piece of $hit.
I bought it used for a very low price. The previous owner forgot to mention that the...
In order to install my 170 t-stat, I had to remove my strut brace. While out, I paid $40.00 to have it powder coated red. I'm always looking for inexpensive ways to look a bit different than the next guy.
But as usual with stuff like this, it looks too nice to put it back in the car.
A while back there was a good post about where our cars need chassis grease. I searched on every keyword I could think of but could not find it.
Does anyone know the answer? I remember the post saying that at least 2 of the spots were really hard to find.
For the car shows that I’ve entered, I’ve always pulled off the top of the intake shroud and used my stainless RSI snorkel just for looks. Below is the bottom of the shroud now after having it airbrushed by a guy out in Oklahoma. Not sure how it will look installed on the car but it’s not like...
Help - my searches have been unsuccessful. I'm trying to find the vendor who sells the "shiny" intake manifold. I say shiny because I can't remember if it's plated aluminum or all stainless.
Help if you can - thanks
