Just becareful with some tuners.. Do your research big time.. I would stay with woodhouse or DC. Even Underground. I did the Florida thing and I regret it.
I think the idea of having multiple heat exchangers would definitely solve the cooling issues. And of course the fuel will be extra insurance.
I loved my paxton, the heat soak was a huge factor with the DLM cooler..
The DC Performance one looks much nicer and definitely put another one in...
Thats probably a one time thing.. Definitely worth a check on others cars.
You do have quite a bit of rust for 7k miles. You must drive in the wet weather quite a bit.
Very cool.
I love seeing the shortblock of a Viper with new pistons, rods, billet mains. blah.
It's funny when you put it next to a Chevy 350, it looks huge!!!!
Thats too funny.
My car should be more than that.
I am definitely going with the rollbar for the street.
I just am not sure what I should do for the track because the car will still be street driven. Just haven't decided.
An easy way to check if a cat has gone bad is to stick your hand by the exhaust tip and make sure it is flowing correctly. This way you can try to rule out the cats being an issue.
Hope your luck gets better.
The whole reason you add another exchanger with the stock paxton setup is to have that extra capacity. Why do think most cars over 1000 hp all use water to air intercoolers. Water displaces heat much more efficiently as long as it is setup correctly for it.
As for the stock paxton, it's not...
That's why I hired a tuner like Howard to take on my build and close to home so I can check on what there doing.
Howard, Keep up the good work and post more pictures, I enjoy flipping through the details!
I will never ship my car anywhere again. Especially south florida.
Man 8 months is nothing. It's been over a year for me, these things take time to properly plan for. If your like me you like to learn about what makes the viper tick and all of the pitfalls around it. Instead of someone just building you a car.
Personally I don't trust alot of the so-called...
GR_ASP, Are you saying that air to air intercooler is more efficient then water to air?? Because water will get rid of the heat much more efficiently then air to air.
Is your paxton modified? Because the intercooler on a stock paxton is a water to air setup.
patience is a good thing to have during a build.
Trust me I have had to learn that with my build.
I am going over a year without driving my car.
Howard are you done yet?
Sorry for the no pun intended customer reaction. lol
Cool, I am sure you will like it, I would definitely look into an upgraded fuel system.
Can't wait to see it done.
I am going to post some picks of my build this weekend.
Very doubtful that they would help, I asked them last year if they would build me a motor.
They basically said they only do the whole thing.
I wanted to be apart of the build, so that didn't work for me.
They still do some nice work on there cars, just way to secretive.
That's sounds like a good build.
Thanks for showing all of us what your doing, everybody is so secretive in the Viper forums.
Keep up the good work. And I want to see more pictures of the build.
Mine is about to be done soon, so I will post mine when it's ready.
I have heard this quite a bit... this is why I made my motor bullet proof instead of a stroker...
UGR and a couple other places have been doing strokers for a while now and I haven't heard of any issues from them, But again they have tested quite a bit of what works and what doesn't. I also...
Glad to see its getting there. My big turbo with all the motor goodies will be hitting the streets soon.
So I know how you are feeling. Can't wait to see the final product.
