'04 CD player malfunction

Did a search on hear and found a couple of posts of the 2004 OE 6-stack CD player part of the audio quit working, just like mine has (radio still plays fine). Can anyone comment if the '05 year players have shown this fault too?

We haven't had any problems in our 05.

PM me if you need a replacement as I have seen them around.

Had same problem with my 04 when I got it last year. A local radio shop to it out and replace the CD side with a rebuilt and it has been working fine since. Cost about $450.00 Cdn. to do the re and re and repair.

Thanks for the help, great price on the VPA units, but I already have a spare. Glad to read '05 audio's not done it (the spare I have Neil is the Euro '05 I was going to get decoded for you, but put it on the shelf when you lost your Coupe) They coded them on the UK cars and I wasn't given the code with it - doh! Anyway, I'll be able to use that one now. I only use the CD player, when it first went wrong I blamed my partner thinking he'd disabled it (as he doesn't share the same rock / heavy metal tastes as me).
