Here's the timeslip from our first outing with my new Heffner 1000 SCi Viper yesterday. The best ET and MPH was the last run. We were running BFG drag radials and had a real problem with traction. Looking at the 60' times it's clear that launching was a problem. Also, the clutch slipped quite a bit precluding us from making better times. This week we'll replace the clutch and put slicks on the car for our next assault.

I believe this run sets a few more records for a supercharged-only (no NOS) Viper! This car continues to amaze and please. Oh yeah, the car was driven to and from Maryland International Raceway (MIR) which is about a 3-hour round trip.

Thanks to Jason Heffner for building such a great car and to Jamie Furman for incredible driving!

Gary -- great stuff. You definitely need to fit some ET streets on that puppy, as you'd be down around 10.1 with a solid 1.5x 60'. I'm sure you'll get there!

Also, I seem to recall predicting 142-144 MPH with your new-found power, and based on your trap speeds it appears all your ponies are present and accounted for. Congrats!

For the record (since I think you now have one) what were the conditions at the track -- temperature, elevation, wind?

Thanks, Ben! I'd be guessing at all the conditions, but I would say the temp was in the low 60's, elevation is probably around 400 ft. at MIR and there was only an occasional breeze. There was a Z06 guy there that was taking all kinds of atmospheric readings, I'll see if I can find out more accurate information from him.
