100 Shoot Shift RPM

Just got back from the track and was able to make my first full run on the gas. I shifted at 5000 rpm in all gears. Can you still turn it to 5700 or 6000 with out giving up better times? MY times with pilots were.

Excellent 60' - looks like you got a real good shot, great run! Are you mostly stock, like headers, exhaust, tubes filters? Ooops, just read your post again, what shot of nitrous are you running? You can bring your shift points up some but there's no point to run it past 5500 at the strip, as your power peak is right at 5200..

Beautiful color too, I've always loved the Blue/Silver.

You should shift so that the rpm drops back to the peak torque point. This is typically 4600-4800 on NOS.

That's an excellent time with a 100 shot and pilots!!
I have not been able to get under 2.0 60' times N/A or with N2O, and I spin in 1st and 2nd.

I kept my rears at 24 PSI and left at 2000RPM feathering the gas. My MSD is set at 3000-5800, and I'm shifting into 2nd at 4500, and 3rd/4th at 5600. But I have 20K miles on my tires, 3.55 gears, and the local track prep is not too great.

My TQ power peak with the N2O is at 3600RPM, with it pretty level from 3200-4600RPM.

What pills are you running, and have you dyned you car on the gas yet?

Mid to low 11s on street tires would be great. The problem that I have (besides traction) is that I get warned to slow down on the first time that I nipped into the 11s.

I do have a dyno sheet and thats way I have the ?? on shift points. My peak torque is 603.7 at 4200 and max HP is 522.3 between 4900 and 5300. The two cross at 5250, so should that be my shift? I Have some roll-bar install pics that I would like to share if someone can post. I got the roll-bar from Tom at BTR,and I think my pics are better then his. LOL Now all I need to do is learn how to post pics

I would shift around 5500-5700, this is where the power really starts dipping.

You have an NX kit right? The numbers are virtualy identical to another member on this forum.

Your 60' times are fantastic, please tell us your technique and setup.

Right now I have K&N,Tubes,Corsa cat-back,and 3.55,100 Shoot N/X. My 60' times use to be 2.1's and 1.9's,this week is the last big race of the year,a five day event.Since Wed my 60' keeps getting better 1.9,1.8 1.7, I think the track prep and all the big boys are to credit. I leave at 1700 RPM and give more gas as I let out the clutch.By the time the clutch is all the way out I go to WOT. Well I need to go,Time trials for today star in two hr. I'm hoping for an 11.28 or 11.30 today.

You will drop approximately 1000 rpm's, therefore, if 4200 is peak torque, shift at 5200. That is not debatable, acceleration is torque. There is always a tendency to shift, higher, however, the math doesn't lie.

OK today I shifted at 5500 rpm's and got an 11.32 @123.77 mph my 60' was 1.718 this is my best run so far. I'm still in and the next elimination rounds are tomorrow at 10.30. The #'s on the ran where.
