Hello all. I just bought my first Viper three weeks ago, 1 red 1996 RT/10, and I have a couple of questions. I'm missing my owners manual. Does anybody know where I can get one. I'd prefer and original, but I'd take a copy for now. Second, I missing the yellow "Sneaky Pete" decals on the fenders but I found somebody who can make them. Does anybody know the size? Thanks for the help.

Try E-bay for the first question but I'm not sure about the second question. I love the McViper! That's a keeper.

Good choice, I think you'll enjoy it. I have a 96' RT/10 and really love it.

I just saw the 96' RT/10 owners manual, complete, like new (w/the wheel cap opener), and it was $29.99. Also pick up a DC shop manual from ebay, sometimes as low as $20-25 :)

Mopar web-site has owners and service manuals (you click a link and it goes to a servicer web-site which has online ordering). IIRC the owners manual was $10 + shipping and the service manual was $90 + shipping. About a month or two ago someone posted that they ordered a service manual on e-bay and receive a cheap loose-leaf photo copy of a real manual. Just buy the real thing. I ordered online and it was at my house in three days.

The azgrafix stickers are 6"
The correct size is 4.5"
I have a spare set in case I ever need to repaint the hood.
I got them from Neil-UK who is a UK member.
Cheap, top quality, and a great guy to deal with !

Enjoy the McViper. I love mine, but then again, I love em all :2tu:

Great choice on a Viper! I've had my McViper for about 2 months, and I love it. Not everyone likes the wheels, but everytime I hear something negative about them, I'm tempted to ask "and you drive a what?" lol

Look under seats & behind seats for owners manual, it seems to be a common place to find them. Order a real serv. manual, ebay ones are photocopies.

Odd I've bought two service manuals off ebay, and their the real McCoy....one was $30 and the other was $15 (as a backup).

You just need to know what you're buying on ebay...most items have pictures, you'll be able to tell if it's a photocopy, if in doubt, email the seller, ask questions, check their feedback.

You don't know till you get it. The one I bought was a punch-bound photocopy with a color cover. The picture in the ad was a bound "real" McCoy. Never occured to me to ask beforehand, and he didn't answer my emails after. Definitely ask if it's important to you.

My first Snake was a MacViper and I think it is a fantastic car. It has the GEN II suspension and exhaust and the lack to basics character(AC Cobra like) of the GenI. Great car and love the badging including yellow wheels.

Only in 1996 as RT/10's... Then there were 14 GTS's in 1997, one of which is Charlie's. I have seen "fakes" as well.

See you Saturday, Gerald !!!

The cool thing about the 1996 RTs as Fred pointed out, is they received a lot of the Gen2 updates.

It has the following Gen2 characteristics:

* New stiffer and lighter chassis and suspension with stiffer springs and revalved shocks (although it's still unbeliveably comfortable!)
* Hood (although not cut out for the scoop and vents, look underneath, and you'll see their provided for).. also hood is lighter, and they used the Gen2 molding process(SMC)/compound.
* Gen2 OBD-II computer
* Although it's still a Gen1 engine, it did receive some Gen2 engine enhancements (windage tray, baffled oil pan, etc.)
* Gen2 rear exit exhaust
* Upgraded stronger and stiffer rear end
* Uprated drive shaft
* Upgraded cooling system
* Power steering cooler added
* New and improved soft top (I believe it's the same as the Gen2, with different front post mounts)
* New and improved side windows (although they should've had Vipermania design them :)
* New factory hard top (optional)

Probably some other stuff I missed :)
