My 99RT10 needs traction with an 18 in stock rim.
Could I use the ps2's only on the back rears, since my front tires are still in great condition for now.

I am looking for straight line road traction.
Which Kumo would come closest to fitting my 18 inch rim?

Thanks for any input.

The Kumho XS would probably be best, but not sure if they have that size. They do have teh V700 if you can find them. Otherwise, the Pilot Sport would be your next choice. I don't think you want a DR on the street.

You can use the sticky rear tire only if you never drive fast around corners. The handling will be VERY compromised in this configuration and we would hate to loose you and the car.

Which sticky rear are we talking about, for an 18 inch stock rim?

For the 18" rear rims on the street you can go:

Kumho V700
Toyo R888
BFG drag radial
Nitto drag radial
Pilot Sports

And I am sure there are several others. Check the internet tires sites.

Which fits the rim properly in size and height?
Can you use a Drag radial on the street? With success? (No rain)?

Thanks

All fit 18" rim. Read my post. I said you can use all 4 of them on the street.:2tu:

Sorry, I thought I read the v700 did not fit right.
I am down to V700 or Toyo R888, if they fit and look right. Not small.

I posted some pics last month on one of the other Kumho threads. It shows what the V700 looks like on the stock 18" Gen2 rim.

A lot of the UK members are running the Toyo 888's and love them....

Shame they don't do a 19" rear....

I am running the Toyo R888 on rear. They do not bounce around like the BFGs and M&Hs do and they hook up pretty good.

I am probably going with Nitto drag radials next for even better traction. They have a little bit shorter side wall than BFG and M&H so they should handle better on the curves.
