I'm sure there has been something on this before, but what battery do you recommend for a 2001 gts? Would a battery form napa or advance be fine? thanks

Anything>Optima. I have a Werker battery ($70?). Car routinely sits up 2-3 weeks at the time and starts fine each time. An Optima dies if you let the car sit up long enough to fill up on gas.

Yes, this has been beat to death...BUT, here goes:

For Gen I and II Vipers, I use Sears Die-Hard Gold (Group 78 recommended, but since I have had some fit issues with two of our Vipers, I usually go with the slightly smaller Group 75) batteries and have had great luck. Just started a 95 Viper last week that has been sitting in a hot garage for 3 months with no battery tender, and it fired right up. However, if you plan on tracking the Viper...suggest that you try a battery that will not leak. Others have other opinions.

You may want to review the following thread BEFORE you start:

Any brand name battery just get the best in their food chain. I use the Interstate Megatron.

I have the same in my '02 :2tu: and have had good luck with the Interstate batteries in some of my other cars too. :) :drive:
