Which mark is it at ? The mark near 0 is 500 rpm and the next mark up is 750 rpm .... which is what it should idle near. That second mark does look like the other middle marks which indeed are 500 rpm increments.

I spent about an hour to stop my low idle, almost stalling when clutch depressed condition on a gen1.

I removed the IAC motor. Only two bolts. I took the unit apart, only two bolts. I cleaned everything with a white cotton cloth and sensor safe throttle body cleaner. I was amazed at the dirt.

I took off the tubes. I opened the throttle bodies and cleaned everything inside making sure nothing was hanging them up from shutting.

I removed the tube going into the airbox by the IAC. I removed the air sensor. I just wiped it down with dry cotton cloth.

Perfect idle ever since.

My car idles at 480, never stalls, and makes the cam sound MEAN!!!

Car runs perfectly, so I'm leaving it as is.

Howard,

Has your car been modified? Mine is stock - minus the Mopar exahust - It appers to me that the car doesn't sound as loud idling at 500 rpms.
