From the Atlanta Constitution today (11.30.01)

Chrysler executives decide on four-figure price increase for
Dodge Viper.

The Viper increase is its 2002 introductory hike. Viper
prices are $76,000 (up $3,000) for the GTS Coupe and
$75,500 (up $5,500) for the RT/10 roadster. The figure
includes the $775 destination charge but does not
include the $3,000 gas-guzzler tax.

OK, let's try to figure this out, but I just got off the phone with our local very friendly Viper dealer and....

There has been NO price increase in '02. The 76000 MSRP mentioned above, was the SAME in '01.

The RT/10 price has not jumped, as it now INCLUDES the hardtop....it's no longer an option.

Very easy to confirm this as the www.4adodge.com website still has '01 info ONLY when you click "build a viper".

Kernie,

You are right about the price increase.

Joe, not to step on your toes, but I got a little inside information just yesterday, and I believe this is the first increase in price since '96.

Who knows though, maybe my information is wrong!

Regards,

Martin
