I have contacted Chrysler directly for a service manual for my 2009 ACR, they informed me that they only have a CD for the
2008. They said they cannot guarantee it will work for 2009. Can anyone help me locate a real service/shop manual.

I think in '08 they went to a cd only. No more paper service manuals. Saving $$ I think. Give Chuck Tator a call.

The format is fine but the fact that is not for the 2009 is the problem. Thank you for the information, I will try that.

JW, I know that I'm missing something here. Does the 2009 Viper (ZB) CD not contain the info that you need?? I generally find that the 2009 version is easier for me to use...and lacks some of the errors that I have found on the 2008 CD.

While there are a couple of printed manuals for 08 and 09 Vipers...the "Service Manual" is found in CD format only.

Steve,

The problem is finding the CD for the "2009 ACR". Any idea where I can find it?

I don't think there is much if any difference between the 2008 and 2009. I'd be surprised if you found anything in the 2008 manual that was incorrect for the 2009 car.

Well, in fact, I could NO LONGER find the 2009 Service Manual listed...did find 2008...which would be worth having if they have indeed stopped supplying 2009 (noting that so far there has been NO 2010 Viper Service Manual offered).

https://www.techauthority.com/en-US/Pages/Home.aspx

Product Id: 81-270-08030CD
Name: 2008 Dodge Viper Service Information CD (English) $199.95 U.S.

BEFORE ordering, I would suggest that you give them a call: Within United States, please call (Toll free): +1 800-890-4038 (Mon – Fri, 8AM – 8PM US EST)
From outside the United States, please call: +1 313-957-5627

As a "FYI" I would suggest that you look closely (CAREFULLY) at the 2009 listing that says:

"Product Id: 81-699-0499
Name: Viper Binder With 6 Viper Student Workbooks (English):....... SINCE this group of manuals applies ONLY to 1992-2000 Vipers!!! I already have that set, but I THOUGHT that there was a "new set" out for the 2009 Viper and ordered same...got fooled...it was the OLD GenI-II set that I ALREADY HAVE! I called this to the attention of a woman @ Tech Aiuthority, pointing out that I felt these old manuals should NOT be listed under 2009 materials and she assured me that it would be removed over a couple of weeks ago ( Yeah, right !!!). At $329.00, this 1992-2000 set won't appeal to very many 2009 owners in my opinion. :)

If I can help you with a specific problem, I'll be glad to try...noting that these Viper CD's are not a large pdf file (as they were in the past...including my 2006 Jeep Commander Manual), so one cannot easily print the manual.

Well I'm being told by many that the 2008 Manual is the only available manual. I just wish I could have someone guarantee that there is no missing information that pertains to the 2009 ACR before I purchase it to find out otherwise. Tech Authority is telling me they cannot gurantee it pertains all information for my 2009. Maybe I'll have to just wait a little longer in hopes that the 2009 manual comes back. Thank you everyone for your help.

Something not so good is up with Ma MOPAR and tech authority. I tried for a long time to get a print manual for my '09 SRT Challenger, no go. I had to settle for a CD and now that's not even available any more. The CD now days requires windoze and ie browser and an svg plugin to work. All of which suks.

Last print manual I was able to obtain was for my '06 Viper.

My own HOPE (however naive) is that they will come out with a 2010 Service Manual CD.

But, if they don't, a 2008 CD "in the hand" may be worth far more than a 2009 CD "in the bush".

J W, I just reviewed my 08 and 09 CD's...08 has nothing on ACR under shocks...09 has a couple of ACR specific pages. What a PITA these CD's are!!

If you have work planned and are in need of info, e-mail your fax number to me for those 2 pages.

Guys, I apologize for misleading you...as in my looking through the 2009 Viper Service Manual CD, I found considerably MORE info on the shocks...broken into MANY different sections such as front, rear, Coupe, Roadster, etc....32 pages in all, SO FAR!!!

I would politely suggest that ALL 2009 and 2010 Viper (especially ACR Owners) contact Dodge and ask them to resume making and selling not only the 2009 CD but a 2010 CD as well.

Again, SORRY for my underestimation of the amount of material.

Reflecting further on this thread, I would suggest that there a couple of good options:

1. Dodge's Tech Authority continue prodicing said materials.

2. VCA leadership look into this "opportunity".

3. Third party consider purchasing license for same.

I think the CD justs verifies a license to access the Chrysler website...at least it seems that way...but I could be wrong, I have never actually tried to access it when I was off-line.

Steve, I'm in for a 2008+ hardcopy service manual. While I'm very computer literate, I like the portability of the book. I kept my 06 manual and at least I can see everything about the body, interior and suspension. Mike

redtanrt10, I guess that I am unclear as to what you mean by "Steve, I'm in for a 2008+ hardcopy service manual".
I have had multiple discussions with the folks at Tech Authority in the past over a paper copy of the 2008 Viper Service Manual, and the answer was that CD was the ONLY format...refusing even to "print on demand" a paper manual for $$$$$$$$.

As I have said above: to me, a 2008 manual on CD is better than nothing...BUT my hope is that 2009 CD's will return and a full 2010 CD will be available by one of the 3 mechanisms that I have outlined.

Steve, I must have mis-read your post. I thought you were advocating for Dodge to create a print version. And yes, the CD is better than nothing. Mike
