01 rt snake..thats a hell of a deal for an 01..Well below blue book...

Id say that 43-45 grand is good for a 01 snake..

The blue book said my 99 rt snake with 27 K miles was worth 38 from a private owner and 42 from the dealership...My credit union said they would give me up to 46 K for it...

So I would say a 01 snake is worth maybe 5 K more across the board..eighter way 53 K is a rip off...You could EASILY get a 01 ACR for that much.

Blue book values don't mean anything in regards to Vipers.

A average '01 RT/10 with 15k or more miles, will go for mid $40s. A low mile CLEAN '01 will go upper $40s and low $50s depending on miles, condition etc.

Anyone selling a clean '01 RT/10 for $40k please let me know! Carmax will give me more than that for one! :D

Unfortunately we can not really compare GEN I and IIs to GEN III. The only thing we can really factor in is age. The GEN Is and II have gone up a bit in value after the SRT line so they are hard to price. For a 2001 RT, $53K is about right from a dealer with those miles but I would say to try to get it to $50K. The thing is that car has low mileage going for it and not many around still have low miles. For reference, I just saw a 02 Red with Cognac for $55K with only 223 miles and that was a STEAL!

From researching, and following prices I can say that is not a good deal, although it's not horrible deal either. You can definitely get a better deal on a Viper, especially an RT/10. You just need a little patience. Check the classifieds here too. Good luck.

Blue book values.......Viper.......ROTFLOL

www.premiercars.com

58k for a 2k miler

They OBVIOUSLY didn't get the memo.........

Check the classifieds

"What's the price for a 2001 RT w/5k" is pretty wide open......history, damage, paperwork, number of owners, warranty, records, etc etc etc etc etc etc
ALL of these will affect price on a Viper, might not make a sh*t on a Toyota, but on a Viper it equals $ vs $$$$$

Good luck!

As the previous posts has mentioned, book value means nothing for exotic or limited production vehicles. Kelly, NADA, Edmunds, etc. apply to same criteria to Vipers as they do for all vehicles (Accords, Camrys, etc.) and it is based solely on depreciation - not the current market.

For the record,
I payed 50k for my Saphire blue RT/10, 8500 miles, one owner, bone stock, with the hard top , owner's manual, videotape, clean Carfax. That was in April 06.

Mr. Levin is correct. Location is important. We have seen costs fluctuate between the Mid-West and the NYC markets countless times before on the site. I suggest to look at the car before you make a snap judgement. Remember, this is asking price. People can ask whatever they want.
