Blew the front seal out of my A/C Compressor today. How much trouble to replace the A/C Compressor and drier on a 94 Gen1?

Did you try to recharge your A/C without proper gauges? I've heard of that happening. If not, did it just wear out?

No had the proper guages and all. I had a leak in it for awhile, I put a stop leak in it last year and it slowed it down.
After all it's 12 years old and the A/C on these cars isn't the greatest in the world anyway from what Iv'e heard. Ordered a new A/C Compressor and Drier from Chuck Tator.

There is a pressure release valve....take note...this can be very dangerous!!!

I had done the same thing as above with the fix a leak kind of stuff for the a/c. Car got hot one day and the AC oil blew out the valve....when it did this, it hit my manifolds and all I saw was flames coming out my hood. Luckily I had an extingusher and no damage was done. So if you have a leak don't use that fix a leak stuff...if you saw the pin hole the oil has to go through...you would understand the pressure that is involved.
