Yesterday it was over 90 degrees and probably the first time I have used my A/C in 2 years. When I first turned it on it seemed OK but the more I drove the hotter it became blowing very little cool air. I checked the sight glass and saw plenty of bubbles. I purchased a can of the ID recharge with guage and filled the system till the needle was almost out of the blue (safe-full) mark but noticed there were still plenty of bubbles in the sight glass. The air was a little cooler but nowhere near the 50-60 degree mark where it indicates it shoud be. Should I keep filling until the bubbles go away and ignore the guage or take it to a qualified A/C man. It only used about 1/4-1/2 of the can.

Thanks

It takes a total of 30 oz. to fill the system. Take it to someone that does air conditioning on cars, they take all feon or what ever and weight it then fill it to the correct amount. I just had mind done on my 94 viper and it freezes the wife out on the passenger side no matter how hot. It cost me $100 well worth it.

A1998, My experience was just the opposite. Autozone had the kit with (3) 13oz. bottles of a mix of r134 and the leak stuff, gauge built into the hose, and adapters for converting old cars. I hooked it up with the car running and air on, and when I slowly turned the lever back after puncturing the can, with the can upside down, it sucked in two cans fully without a problem. Air is freezing cold now and I have an extra can. Kit was on sale for $30.
