ac problems

my ac compressor makes a very annoying squeaky noise when i accelarate , what type of compressor do i have ? any help much appreciated .

Try belt prep spray on the belt - to see if the belt is slipping.
If that don't work try WD40 on the compressor pully bearing - maybe the bearing is going out.

AC compressors don't know if you are accelerating unless the AC is even on - is it?

If you believe it to be the AC bearing, with one wrench you can loosen the serpertine belt and spin the pulley all by itself and check it.

How did you diagnose it to be the compressor and not power steering or alternator? Often the squeal is low PS fluid.
