Can anyone (Jon B., Sean et al) advise if all the 2000 ACRs were produced with the so-called "revised" oil pan that was not delivered on the 99 models. Further, I presume all the 2001 models indeed do have the new pan. Correct? Lastly, what visual external differences can be seen to confirm which one you have.
As always, thanks to the Viper Nation for any help.

Despite early brochure and MPP ad claims to the contrary.....

The ACR has shared in 1999, 2000, and 2001, the SAME OEM oil pan as its non-ACR bretheren of the same specific years. In MY2000, Dodge made an RDC to an OEM "improved pan/tray/gasket" that:

a) returns oil to the pan quicker, and hence to the oil pickup quicker.
b) holds more oil (1.3 qt) to begin with, becasue it is deeper.
Therefore less likley to "starve" of oil.
c) Is finished better inside, vs 1996-9 pans. Including the oil return line internals.
d) Much improved 'lifetime' gasket.

[1996-1999 Viper owners would do well to choose this pan upgrade at only $529 complete....better than the $1200 MoPar PP pan.]

Jon,
As always thanks for the prompt response. The information is helpful in that it explains some of the confusion that apparantly has been caused by the oilpan issue. Do I understand your reply correctly that there still is another Mopar pan (for race use perhaps) out there but that the 2K forward pans are improved over the previously standard OEM models? Thanks again,
