As you guys have all seen my car is really slammed. It being that low it doesn’t really ride great either. I liked the stock ride, even when I had my eibach springs it was good, but ever sense I got my coilovers and slammed it to the ground it really got bad.

I won’t rise it back up because I love the way it looks. So I've been doing some research on the air ride technologies air ride kit with leveling sensors. If anyone here is familiar with the way the Mercedes factory air ride works it’s just the same. See you can go for a ride in a cl500, 600, and 55. I have a 2003 cl55 and that car handles like its on rails and rides soooo nice.

I’ve talked to the guys at air ride technologies and asked if their system will work, apparently they just finished a srt-10. If the suspension between the second gen and third gen cars is similar, which I think it is, they are willing to mimic the kit they build for the srt-10 and send it to me. But what they would prefer is that I ship the car to them and they build the system on the spot.

As far as the price it’s around 3k with everything. That’s my guess because I’m getting this set up for my 1970 camaro and that’s coasting me $6,300 because it also comes with upper and lower a-arms and I 4link kit for the rear. The viper is not going to need all that for the viper so it will be fewer than 3k.

The system has a preset setting that you adjust to your favorite ride height which it will set the car too every time you get in it and as your driving around you can adjust the ride height accordingly.

you would want the on of the smaller compressors for better control. If you get a big one one top of a button will send your car up 1-2inches. With a small compressor you can play with 1/8 adjustments.

so does this work like a traditional air ride setup? IE - do you have a tank for the air, valves, compressor, etc?

yeah just like the traditional one except you know have leveling sensors that do the job for you and as your tarring thought the turns it adjust the air in your shocks accordingly so keep the car as flat to the ground as possible.

I thought about the air suspension a while ago but I've just got too much junk in the trunk for an air tank. I was just hoping there was a tankless solution.

I was under the impression that the suspension between Gen II and III was very different. One way to find out, though.

i was refering more to the front upper and lowere a arms. The guys at air ride technologies told me that the rear is no problem but the front on the srt-10 was cutting it close as far as the space between the arms

So i have to find out if there is moore room in the front of the 2nd gen or a 3gen.

Does anyone have pics?
