Hey guys.

Being that I was (and still am, I guess) a huge Corvette fan I begged by brother in law to bring home a new c6 (has connections) so I could spend some actual time with one.

Last night I drove in a yellow C6 convertable 6 speed and the car is a VERY NICE car. "NICE" I think is the key work here. It is very quiet, comfortable and rides about perfect but produces a bit more body roll than I would like. I really like the new look. Stepping on the pedal makes me think it might be as fast as my 94 Viper (light mods, exhaust, 3.55 gear), but it does not really FEEL like it. Low end torque rocks.

As I drove away from the c6 tour in my Viper, I found myself enjoying MY car more than I had in a while. It's simply more fun. This is when I was able to put my finger on what the new vette is really missing.... ATTITUDE. In a few years the new body excitement will go away...etc...etc...

Hold on to you G1's and 2's guys. I don't think they are replacable (except with another).

Last Sunday I ran to get dog food in my GTS and I saw a yellow C6 coupe in the parking lot. No other cars around so I parked a couple spaces down from him. When I came back to my car two people were gathered around looking at......my GTS.

Just think they have already made more C6's than the 12 years Vipers have been with us. Pathetic huh?

although not a C6 my first autocross at Denvers airport had me surrounded by 6-10 Z06's. Guess how many people were checking out the only Viper at the event and asking for rides on the course...many!

It just reinforces the scarcity of the Viper and the everyday look of the Z06.

yawn.........

I didn't think the C6 vert was out yet?

It was a GM exec's car. Borrowed for one evening.

I have no idea who owned the one I saw (I didn't think they were out either), but it had temp plates. It actually looks good in yellow though.
I saw a Bentley GT in Pittsburgh too, and I didn't know those were out either.

I was at a show this past weekend and some guy had the new C6 there. I wasn't to impressed with it. The back of that thing is HUGE! Looks real boxy and quite frankly, ugly. Corvettes do not impress me at all. I will take my Viper any day over the vette. :D

Different reasons for ownership. My 04 C5 Vette is terrific with aftermarket Corsa Indy exhaust, because I can drive it anywhere, put the hard top on or off in a few seconds, roll up the windows, and have a greater number of amenities than my 96 Viper.

Having said that, I'd still trade my C5 Vette on an 03 Viper in a heart beat. But it is more practical than my 96 RT/10 was.
