Vinny-I am considering the k&n-I have heard positive comments.

However when I got a new computer for my Viper, DC Performance reco. the green filters with stock air box for SRT/10. DC quote on their web "we have found the production SRT/10 air box to be a very efficient design."

Yes-you try it first and let me know how it works. :) :)

Got dash pieces from Parts Rack

I really like the silver dash pieces-to me-gives some needed contrast in the interior. It also complements the silver stripes on my srt. Man that would look great in a black viper.

The K & N 63-1536 for 2006 Vipers is identical to the 57-1536 that fits 2003-2005 Vipers. There is no difference. The 63-1536 was to be redesigned but they did nothing with it. It also is not CARB approved and is waiting approval. All 63- numbers are waiting approval and then will be renumbered as 57- numbers once they have been CARP approved. I have used both numbers on customers cars and have seen that there are no differences between them. I keep them in stock. They may be seen on my web site at:

I hope this helps,

My K&N is in the St. Mary's County landfill. How's that for satisfied?

I now use greens with the stock unit.

Not that I've performed airflow bench tests on KNN and stock, but the KNN does seem to be better engineered for airflow. They "guarantee" some h.p. increase, Was it15hp??

Anyway, they is only so much you can to with a freaking air filter and and airbox... Slap on the KNN or whatever you want then start looking for serious HP increases somewhere else.

Zorro, Reread my post. It says I used both numbers. They are the same except for the 63 number does not come with a CARB sticker.

So let me try again to answer the question of how much HP.

17.53 ENGINE HORSEPOWER & 14.9 REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER @ 5400 RPMs

16.94 ENGINE TORQUE & 14.4 REAR WHEEL TORQUE @ 5400 RPMs

(HORSEPOWER & TORQUE ARE INCREASED BY RAM AIR EFFECT THE FASTER YOU DRIVE

Why did you throw them on the dump. You need to modifiy the 2 vents holes and seal the plemum where the upper and lower air box meets to make it work right. You are correct about Green Filters as we replace the K & N filters with Green Filters when installing the K & N Filtercharger kits. Also we remove the the baffle in the air scoop which restricts the airflow. Hell I would have bought it. Go retrive it from the dump.
