I'm considering a West Coast Viper dry sump system for my Gen III.

I've been told that they've only been installed so far on Gen I/II cars.

Anyone out there with a WCV dry sump set up that can shed any light on how well it works. Any negatives I need to know about?

Kai:
I've seen the parts on cars in his shop. The only negative besides the cost is where you mount the oil reservoir.

If you use the car quite a bit for non racing activities, trunk space may be a concern (probably not much worse than Nitrous bottles though). I don't think they can package it all under the hood, except in the case of a full on race car. Talk to John Horton about what the install would look like. It also will gain you a few RWHP.

All this neat stuff has trade offs. :(

I've already got a 10 pound Halon bottle in my trunk. Looks like trunk space is going to be at a premium.

Do you keep the air conditioning with the dry sump system?

I have a GTSr engine which is dry sump. I don't know if it is the same as the WCV system. The pump mounts on the botom left of the engine. the tank goes where the ac system should be,

Kai- The Gen-2 system is available in a version that does not impact the A/C, however, the Gen-3 system current is not. Rest assured that I will explore all possibilities of mounting a Dry Sump to a Gen-3 and keeping A/C... I want that without compromise on my own car, so it is not something that will slip through until it is either solved, or beaten to death.
