I am looking at possibly updating my front facia on my 94 to a Gen2 style. I seem to come accross quite a few that are slightly cracked, scratched, or minor damaged in some way. Are these repairable? Repairable in the sense that once fixed, repainted, they look as if they are NEW and the crack or damage will not re-appear in six months. I have no experience with a urathane or "pliable" type material such as this and have no idea what can be done. Any explanations?

Thanks

Jeff

Jeff,
I have a 1985 Iroc camaro that I brought to Maaco to get a cheap paint job on. My front spoiler had a BIG crack in it. I thought for sure that I would have to buy a new one. Actually, I was just going to have them paint right over it since this is just a ****** car that I have had since new. Anyway, they said they could repair it. They used some kind of epoxy on it and then painted it. You cannot tell it ever had any damage to it and it is holding up well. This is going back almost 2 years now. Now I have never had to have any facia work done to my viper but I think the camaro facia material is very similiar,so I am assuming it is very repairable.
Good luck,
Bruce

Yes, a good shop can repair them. They "plastic weld" any cracks with the proper plastic. To repaint properly, it is best to take all the paint off..... pain in the behind, which is why most do not go to that effort. If you don't the first time you push to hard when waxing...... paaaaiiinnnnttttt ----craaaacccckkk.... grumbling will soon follow..... trust me on this one.
